it makes the game totally risk free, if they put out the starting 11 and lost it's a blow to morale but here they can't lose too much. also should be said that they've had a packed schedule with champion's league so the squad needs to be kept fresh

It wasn't a choice ! The squad is tired. Monaco isn't Real or Bayern. They can not play 70 matches in only one season.
