otamendi saved us like 3 times this game...defensively he was amazing. you can't blame a defender for missing a goal...that's ridiculous.

Messi the GREATEST PLAYER give me a break. Just watching the highlights was so boring. REAL TEST is INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL and with an A-Team to work with this guy looks lost, plays mediocre football like he is in an inexperienced team. From the way this ended, expect a lot of whistles and then a cup in hand in future. Iniesta, Xavi, Ronaldinho, Villa, and now Neymar, Suarez, and list goes on and on to make him look untouchable. AND then CHILE happens heheheheheheh. Nah man the TRUE LEGEND from ARGENTINA is and will always be MARADONA. The social media bandwagon with Barca talking idiots can keep trying to put Messi in his place, WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

.@ares11 - I agree, Icardi isn't the guy Argentina wants or needs due to lack of trust. With a teammate like that, who needs opponents?

I think Icardi is what Argentina need. Him and Dybala up front with Di Maria on LW and Messi RW that will win them the world cup

he wouldn't fix anything, what we need is more midfield players. we have them....we just don't play them

@ares11 with all due respect, I can't understand this. Did he go to their home, and stole her, against her will? So why don't you call the police? If it's a mutual decision everyone should just grow up and stop talking about others personal matters. Marriage only works when both wife and husband are happy. When she finds happiness somewhere else you cannot stop them or blame the guy who brings that happiness unless when it's illegal or when it's in the form of an affair.

Argentina was so terrible. Really overrated, no chemistry, middlefield sucked so badly. One of the most boring match for SA qualification...

Do you think he'd want that role? I love him as a manager. And there is no way Argentina isn't better than this.

Saw the whole match and Argentina were terrible. Couldn't even string five passes together. There midfield is terrible. Should start banega but they need someone else with him to control more. All they have at the moment is a defence playing well and obviously Messi who wasn't at his best tonight but single handedly beat Colombia

We were really unlucky, Chile deserved to win, Argentina only had 2 chances, they palyed horribly, we missed so much Vidal, 1st half was a fight between the 2 teams, Chile didn't create much, we made a goal that was offside. 2nd half was only Chile playing, clear chances created to make goals, but we werent clinical. GG.

Well done Argentina. They won and that's all that matters in the end. But they were thoroughly outplayed by Chile. A dubious penalty but that's how it goes. At the end of the match the commentator said something like: "Argentina 26 fouls vs Chile 16..." I hope I'm right (can't remember 100%). But that sort of tells the story of the match. Argentina had no ideas and resorted to physicality as a plan to counteract a much more calm and creative Chile...

chile are 6th in the table...should be even less since they stole points from bolivia. argentina didn't care to play beautiful football...they needed the 3 points. they muscled their way there. im happy with the result. could have been 2-0 for argentina. chile were far less clinical, that's their own fault.

@_Gonzi_: makes sense, 3 points are important. But the way Argentina played was terrible, I meant from football point of view. It looked dark and clueless. With that mid... I dont think you guys can get anywhere without Messi (in a long run)

yea it's bauza and his tactics. he put 4 attackers, aguero in the 10 role, when he should have put banega from the start, or any other midfield. that is why there wasn't much midfield to break the other team down. there wasn't any play building. if i'm not mistaken that is actually what bauza wanted. in his words he wanted to "disequilibrate" the other team with 4 fast attackers. it kind of worked. the attackers were focused on di maria and aguero running more than on messi. next match against bolivia will be a 4 5 1, it will look nicer if you like that. no higuain, no biglia, no masche...so we might see new midfleld players added. pizzarro for example. what we needed was 3 points badly and we got them. argentina can't be that bad...i mean we have the best win rate percentage for 2 yrs ;)

I do have some affection for Edgardo Bauza, because he was my team's coach recently...... but his tactics really don't suit Argentina well.

Only saw last 10 minutes of game, and chile was pounding argentina but they defended well and also got a bit lucky, The game that they absolutely had to win and they won, well done

Watched this match after the Brazil-Uruguay one finished. What I saw in the last half an hour: Argentina without ball control, unable to even create chances. Chile without a clear objective, seemingly lost. This is not what I expected from the champion and runner-up of last two Copa Americas.

Dude, we owned them the hole game, post from Alexis, 2nd half we create so many chances, Argentina had 2 chances in the hole game, 1 being the pen, watch the hole match and then say something :)
