Quite frankly, Croatia is deserved to be in the final, and it is their golden generation final moment (with Modric, Perisic and others in their prime - they are in the 28-32 years old). France is truly terrified as they have WC player in every position, but I think France would improve next time, when their key players matured and shone through!

England, well, what can I say. Reaching the semi is already an achievement, so no hard feeling there, maybe some regret but no more. What I have seen from recent years trend, is the national team success depend heavily on the success of the youth level (U17,U18,U19,U20 and U21).

Spain dominated youth level for a while, before Italy and Holland had some very good results. Then, it was the era of Germany with their success in youth level.

Croatia golden generation also came from one of the squad that placed 3rd in 2010 at youth level (U19 Euro). Similarly, Portugal up and coming squad would also be strong, considering their recent result in youth level. France is making huge transformation 4,5 years ago, and now it resulted in their current strength.

I do expect England to have good result in the next 4 years, considering how England dominated at youth level in 2017 (won WC at U17 and U19 and U20, won Euro at U21, and came 2nd or 3rd in others.) Statistically, things are looking bright for England, but the young players need to play regularly!

England stuck with their tactics from easier games and I think that was bit of a mistake.. they are not that good yet, that they can play the same regardless of the oponent.. I think they should have played Dier with Henderson in midfield right from the start or at least bring Dier in earlier in the 2nd half

this is wat happens when u defend from minute 6! Anyway, England were never really favs! like i said last week, they got super lucky with a hopeless draw by FIFA which had all the big guns limed up against one another on one side and lame teams on the other.. Infact no team has really impressed this term! it was a very mundane tournament! with no real stars to look forward to in the future.

As for England, it aint coming home but the players definitely are!

English failed to score open play goals in any of the matches , and they would never get this kind of chance I future world cups.i hope the current squad stays together and matures in next 4 years to great players(Kane , Alli,lingaard, trippier, rashford,sterling) everyone can become good in next 4 yrs ..this year would have been a shame for football if England have gone through (as they scored no open play goals) all were set pieces and penalties and I don't want see that kind of team in finals

So many England haters in here... They might not play the best football, but if you saw how England played many years back, this is much better. And about the teams they faced, hey, Germany didn't even make it through from a group consisting Sweden, Mexico, and South Korea. Argentina was the real shit big team in this world cup. Give credits when it's due.

About this match, England shut down after they score the goal. They tried to mimic France facing Belgium, but England scored in the fuc*ing 6th minute! They can't just slow down the game for 80ish minutes and not get punished. Even before half time they already wasted time a bit.

Argentina got knocked out 4-3 by France who are in the final. If England play like this against Croatia than they would be humiliated by France if they got them in R16. Lucky for England they lost to Belgium on purpose so they wouldn't go up against Brazil. Instead they beat a Columbia without James on penalties and Sweden. Besides that they only beat Panama and Tunisia. Not much to talk about at all.
