France is being criticized for playing defensive but they also had 5 goals on target against 3 for Belgium. That's nearly twice as dangerous offensively.
Was Hazard so naive to think France would play like Japan?
The facts are France is more solid defensively, more dangerous offensively, and reached the final. End of discussion.

Another proof that the best team does not always win tournaments. I've not seen any country which played more beautiful football as Belgium, their matches were always full of energy and a joy to watch. However France knew this and played it smart, Kudos for them and Deschamps. Disgusting play of Mbappé at the end, total lack of respect for his opponent, great player tho. Hazard and Belgium deserved to be rewarded with the top spot. Oh well let's all just hope Croatia or England destroy France in the Final as the whole world will probably agree.

Nice dribbling skills, but he didn't create much danger. Griezmann was better, accelerating the game with clever one touch passes or keeping the ball when needed.

Gotta take your chances. In the WC where you have a potential of 7 games to play, you need to be on your A game every game, you can't afford to have an off day like you're playing at Club level in a 38 game league. In the end if it's a corner, header, or pen that wins it... the other team should think about why they didn't score more goals that the opposition. It's like when I saw Sterling the other day miss a few big chances... I was scared if that'll end our WC.

Is the football world Hazard-philic? I watched the game. He is still the same old Hazard dribbling without any purpose. Never crosses the ball. Mertens made much more impact coming in the second half than what Hazard did the whole game.

Deschamps brand of claustrophobic football supplemented by playacting and falling over at the minutest contact was a disgrace. Matuidi in particular just spent the game going down, while the out-of-his-depth, so called, referee just kept making wrong decisions. Belgium, who played the right way throughout, were robbed and football lost tonight.

No real great open chances created in this game or the last few really. What do expect when teams are playing the likes of giroud and mandzukic upfront. Not really built for quick touch in tight spaces kinda play

It's like you've never played football in your life...
If i'm that fast and people keep pulling my shirt and making little irritating fouls against me during a game, I'll jump like a dolphin to the floor to get get him out.
You get a little media attention and everybody starts hating... Hazard has dived in the past too. (BTW I love Hazard, I'm just saying 95% of technical/fast players do this, just as defensive players pull shirts and do smart defensive "dirty" plays.)

And keep that kid Mbape away from the bad stuff plzzz. Feel bad for Belgium, Hazard, KDB and co., they have been great.
