Nothing can stop Aguero. He is an underrated goal scoring ace, who just cant stop scoring. He would have slotted the penalty any day. Absolutely immense finish for his goal, with some good touches to get around the defenders.

Argentina's only TRUE weakness - the self-absorbed Sampaoli! Instead of using only one player in the midfield who will be the link between the defense and midfield/attack, meaning, either Niglia (preferable) or Mascherano, he puts both of them, keeps Dybala on the bench, and forces Messi to constantly go back in order to get the ball!

Why didn't Sampaoli choose Dybala in the 2nd half? Higuain is a good player, but he's incompetent against teams like Iceland which have the physical strength and height. Dybala could be a better choice because he has dribbling skills to confuse opponents' defense.

If Ronaldo had a same star studded team mates (pu55i, Dybala, Aguero, otamendi, rojo, Higuain, Maria, mesarano, Giovani Lo Celso, biglia) as Argentina, very easily will win World Cup. Portugal player can’t able to keep the ball on there legs for 10 seconds against Spain players.

I don't get the people on this site dude. You're living in a generation with 2 of the greatest players of all time, something we might not have again for a very long time, and you are going into every game, hoping that one of them fails just so you can say the other is better. You sit there and be like "Man, I hope he misses this PK so I can go and troll and say that Ronaldo is better" as if its all decided by one PK. I see so many cr7 fans with the "I want to prove messi is an awful player so I will wait till he plays a bad game and go out and exclaim how CR7 is better, instead of appreciating both" attitude, and its so annoying.

Messi is a better player for many, but everyone who thinks so says Ronaldo is close 2nd.
Many Messi fans have same attitude to cr7 though.

So? Since when do World cups, a TEAM reward, show how good an individual player is. So I'd say Thomas Muller is better than Messi and Ronaldo because he has a WC and they don't?

Messi has a U21 World Cup and Ronaldo has Euro.
Messi had 32 club trophies, Ronaldo 26

First of all, Di Maria didn't carry them, Messi did, and your hatred for Messi won't change that. He's also the one who even carried them into this WC with the late hattrick.

Messi and Ronaldo are both easily better than Pele, he is extremely overrated and played in uncompetitive leagues. The other players you mentioned are also not better than them. Idk what you're on about. Countless football pundits and former players, managers etc. say that Messi is the best of all time.

The debate is interesting, about WHY someone player is MOTM.

Its a team sport, of course Schmeichel made a great match but i have the philosophy that You win a match with goals scored, not saves.

Only in "no goals match" i can check the goalkeepers stats and if someone have a lot saves name him as MOMT.
