France: Great players, weak team

as an australian this pains me a lot as france were average and we stuck out and played great and was unlucky in the end. lucas hernandez what a fucking cunt of a diver. simply just a twat. bunch of flops in this team and leckie had every right to tell pogba to "get the fuck up you cunt".

Honestly, Australia gave us a very difficult challenge and they fouled us all game long. 19 fouls, and those are only the one that the referee saw!
But we won 3 points for the always difficult first game so its good.
We could have played better for sure, but when you see your team always getting fouled I can't really say I feel bad for Australia.

We are a physical team and thats the way we play on the pitch across all sports. We are never going to play like Spain, Brazil, France etc etc.. We are physical team, always have been and I think countries should always express that and where they come from on the pitch.

Giroud changed the game. They have a good system bringing Griezmann off and Giroud on whichever works best.

Team Performance: France=Top Class, Australia= Average

Explanation:

France had 6 shots on target (Top Class) and scored 2 (as expected)
Australia had 1 shot on target (Poor) but scored 1 (Upgrade to Average)

Man of the match: .Pogba 2 shots on Target and 1 goal, an mention for .A. Griezmann 3 shots on target and 1 goal from penalty, that have less weight that an open play.

That kind of obvious handball coming from a Barca player....and then you expect players from big clubs to know better.

Whats the point of calling Umtiti a Barca player instead of a French national player?
why so much hate against Barca?

Possibly the worst world cup I've watched in the 30 years I've been alive. Too many bus parking teams why the hell are people sad for Australia they only had 1 shot on target and that was from a penalty.

amir_keal 8 years ago

Arsenal, Netherlands 66 2895

Your just an idiot if you think Australia parked the bus, you didn't even watch the game. so please don't make statements based on one factor of the game.

I watched the game, up until the 75th France was not good. No penetration, Mbappe, Fekir, and Griezmann were ghosts. Pogba couldn't connect passes. They scored a good goal and then they started playing well with some confidence.

ramaboy10 8 years ago

Perhaps you should try watching the game next time. For the majority of the game except for the last 15 mins Australia cut out the vast majority of France's attacks very well and showed no signs that they would lose.

a win is a win. Good start for France. Wish Griezmann would do his little celebration after that PEN

Well ... As usual France didn't start well before getting better in the next matches ...
It looked like players didnt know how to play together ..
VAR was useful. On live , I didn't think there was foul. On video yes .

I dont see why there was a penalty. He touches the ball, then the other player touches the ball, and then the australian touches his foot. The cameras are ruining this sport

I knew as soon as Giroud came on that France would win and he would be involved in the goal. Always has been an underrated player!

Giroud's entrance changed the game. Deschamps shall play him and not Dembélé. Impressive 2nd ht from n'golo btw!
