Why Argentina didnt include Pastore in the team i got no idea! Pastore DiMaria Lavezzi can simply divert all the defenders' attention while Messi can have much bigger space to penetrating into penalty box. Masherano in the DM.

I asked myself that the entirety of the cup. The brilliance Pastore has been able to demonstrate in big matches proves he can be a dominant force. However despite his ball control and attacking ability, Argentina already possesses a plethora of strikers. The strategy throughout the cup was to play relatively safe and strong, placing players like Perez and Gago in the middle to defend more so than attack. If Argentina's national team had a different coach, perhaps we would have seen Tevez and Pastore participate. Either way, Argentina made it to the final by finding opportunities using players that rarely play together.
