Underestimating your opponent will not make him weaker, first lesson your team should apply if they want to win any. Second thing, tactics are always crucial in games like that, yes Slovenia had luck and Sarma was outstanding, plus the whole team fought back till the last whistle, so in somekind of a way, they deserve it in a world of football.

I suppose you're right with the underestimating part. It's what most stronger opponents do against Switzerland (e.g. Spain, Argentina, Brazil etc.). But I wouldn't say Slovenia deserved the win. Of course you can defend the whole game and maybe if you're lucky get a penalty and win the game. But you can't call that deserving a victory. If everyone did that, every game would end 0:0, cause no one would attack... ever. So in a world of football, Switzerland would've deserved the win.

Well in real world Greece won Euro 2004 with the same tactics you're describing and saying it would lead every game ending with 0:0. And being ourselves as an Arsenal fans, we just can't argue here with the paradox and absurd, mostly to your philosophy, over deservingly not winning trophies almost 10 years with Arsenal, "because we always deserved to win with our entertained style of football" ...yeah right!

Every team has its strategies composed by their players that are available and whether the players are in coherence with each other, then we can start talking team tactics. In my opinion there is nothing much to it, behind all of this football philosophy-crap, but a simple motivation, a motor driving your desires to realize. Most of men loses their desires to strife and stop flourishing in mid 30's. It's really the power of will, which team wants it most + a lot of all the bullshit combined behind the scenes. And u can look up for the SAF if your too young and you'll see that he was a great motivator that money can't buy.
