3 yellow cards and you say they play ugly and claim em' to be rough playing and call them lame card names? go see galatasaray against fernerbache!! 16 yellow cards and 2 red.. that's ugly. 3 cards are an outcome of every plain game

This was a very valuable victory in a match with lots of handicaps for Atletico: Injured key players: Diego Costa, Arda Turan and Gabi, our captain. Tiredness: after the huge effort done against Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona in 7 days. Good rival: Villarreal are a very difficult team to beat. But this team, again, showed that they can win this title!

This game was a signature of a Champions side , even when they do not have a good game, they still scrap those valuable 3 points .

Oshy 13 years ago

Last time I heard someone spew this kind of bullshit was when Arsenal was at the top of the table and winning some lucky games. We all saw what kind of "champions" they are turning out to be.

@oshy.. every team has a rough patch and it is the champions that keep winning even when they go through a rough patch. Arsenal was doing that but then never recovered.

Oshy 13 years ago

@Zakzook My point was not to dis Arsenal's performance. But it is clear when a team does not possess the class or talent to win something. And Atletico, however much we like them because they are the overachieving underdogs, does not come close to being as good as Barca or RM. They have won some really lucky games, and saying that "only champions win ugly games" is bullshit.

JamesBrown 13 years ago

@Oshy: This far this season, nor Real Madrid nor Barca has beaten Atletico Madrid. It's their ability to be strong in the tough games is what's carried them this far as the La Liga leader. We'll see who takes the prize, but what's sure, is that if Atletico wins, they surely deserve their prize.

I am sorry atletico, but no way in hell you are going to win this title as long UeFELOna are having ref's on their side. Messi got 6 penalities in 3 games, now he is competing for Pichichi .what a joke!

Typical Madrid hate. Jealous because we are both ahead of you.

i am jealous and curious to know what is the recipe to have these ref's on your side. as for atletico i hope with all my heart that they take it this year because if there is a team that deserve it it is them.

poo 13 years ago

agree... poor atletico

Oshy 13 years ago

1. The way you have refs on your side is by being legitimately fouled in the pk area. 2. of the 6 pks that were given to Barca in the past 3 games, only the one on Alexis today wasn't fully legit. 3. Atletico does not even come close to deserving shit! They play ugly, have a very poor attacking power, and the only reason why they are in it is a solid (but very ugly) defensive game coupled with Costa and some lucky goals! 4. the atletico guy pushed the defender and then scored but the ref didn't call a foul. I say the ref was on Atletico's side! CHEATERS!!! <-- This is how you sound!

i know you're just saying #4 to prove a point (that he's a sore loser), but honestly, i used to be a center back/def mf, and if that's all it takes for you to give up your position, you deserve to be scored on
