Why do some people see this defeat as a surprise? The only reason Austria is not in the world cup is because they had way tougher opposition to get there, the U.S faced the likes of Jamaica, Panama, Costa Rica.. of course Austria is gonna beat the USA. They are way more of a footballing nation .

Austria population 8.5 Million, US population 313 Million! The US rather promote Basketball, American Footbal and Baseball over Football because there's more money in it for their kids.
