I'm pretty pissed with Villanova's decision of benching Thiago and keep playing Fabregas. Thiago's got amazing talent, and in my opinon Barça didn't needed to spend those 40 million Euros on Cesc. And whats worse, Thiago may be leaving the team this summer if a good offer comes for him...

the one thing i like about this U21 Spain team over the senior team is that they shoot to try their luck when they're just outside the opponent's box...you don't see that happening often in the senior team...and that's really annoying sometimes.when you have the chance to shoot, just f*cking shoot damn it !

Somebody already explained this on a other video he said this>>>Because technically the tournament started in 2011 (qualification for the U-21 Euros) and back then he was still 21 and part of the team. That's why UEFA allows players who were born in 1990 or later to participate in the tournament (because it means the players were 21 or younger when the tournament started). 23 year-olds who were born in 1989 are not allowed to participate.

Cant believe Germany didn't brought Draxler Schurrle Gundogan Ter Stegen etc. With those players you can reach the finals.

In my opininon, Leno is a better goalkeeper than Ter Stegen + he's first choice in a better club (than Ter Stegen's club), but I'm with you on the others. I think the reason why they weren't included in the u21 squad was that they're established players in the German senior national team.

sorry, but they're both worse than Zieler ;)

Poor Leno, constantly being destroyed by the Spanish. (He was in goal when Leverkusen conceded 7 goals against barca)

I enjoy watching this u21 side and hope that some of them are blooded into the senior side; they could add some much needed energy to a side that sometimes seems static.

@ Akashnai90, Best comment on footyroom, i hope del bosque and xavi read this, and realise that your not wrong. Credit to the u21 Spanish coach, he seems to have a ruthless approach.

Thiago is good but cmon that Barcelona midfield is soo good it's difficult for him.... Cesce Fabregas is on another planet that's why Barcelona bought him for 40 million!

Barcelona buys for fun now! Song was another player that they added just for having a better bench

the seniors play minimalistic but though successful football. in the WC qualification, they have shot only 8 goals in 5 matches. they will be the 1st favourite for 2014 however

Fabregas is more experienced, better with his passes and vision, and he can finish well.. I can't see why you would choose thiago over fabregas.. To me, fabregas deserved more playing time in Barca.. I can't deny that thiago is a talented midfielder, but there are players like iniesta, xavi, fabregas, busquets vying for the midfield role as well..

I agree. Cesc doesnt fit in well with barca. Thiago moves around a lot more and is always open for a pass. He defends better. He is overall a better player than Cesc. The only thing Thiago lacks is experience. I hope Fabregas leaves, he is wasting his time at a club that doesnt need him.

theres a difference between u21 & u23.

If you knew anything about football, you would know that there is a huge difference in preparation for the Olympic games and preparation for a World Cup or European Championship. Let me remind you that the Olympic games take place in August, almost two and a half months after the mayor European leagues have finished, whilst any FIFA or UEFA tournament take place two or three weeks after the end of the league. Last summer the Spanish under 21 players went away on holiday after the end of the league and returned in July, whilst teams like Mexico or Japan had spent months preparing for the Olympic games.

EVEN THE SPAIN U21 ARE KINGS OF THEIR OWN AGE

Why can't the Spanish U-21 manager realize that Morata is their best striker and let him start! Twice he has come on late in the game and twice he has scored the decisive goal.
