that's why he's regarded as one of the world's best. but i must point out to you that messi does this week in week out.. every barcelona game if he doesn't score , he's got at least an assist or a foot in at least one of the barca goals. because ronaldo did it this game, i guess it kinda stood out.

i know what you mean but lopez is in good form rite now so it's hard for him to come off but i think that iker will eventually take his place because as you say hes one of the best.

It's only natural to let the best performing goalkeeper play and right now it's Diego López. I agree that Casillas is the BEST (and not ONE of the best) 'keeper in the world when he's in form, but he hasn't hit his very best this season. López is, like Casillas, a home grown player and should play if he performs better than San Iker. BTW, you should take a look at your own club before commenting on another. Right now, Barca keeps Puyol on the bench, even though he is a club legend. How do you feel about that? Allow me to guess, it's ok because it's Barcelona.

What are you talking about? When Puyol is fit, he plays but right now he is I-N-J-U-R-E-D. Let me tell you something. Iker Casillas should be an undisputed starter always along with Ronaldo. Many of the trophies Madrid has are thanks to him. He's given Real Madrid so much I think it's unfair how this newcomer just waltz in and takes his position because his an ok gk. Diego Lopez is only a replacement. You know who's one of the responsibles for this? JOSE MOURINHO. Everyone knows he has problems with Iker. He even stripped him of his CAPTAINCY. He had no right to do that. Iker has been there longer than anyone. He lifted the World Cup, cup of europe in Spain and Real. not anyone else. Iker Casillas will hardly play at Madrid as a starter in important games while Mourinho is the manager.

So in football perspective if someone won trophies for a club and country he has the right to take any players chance to play even if he plays bad? And yes even before Iker was injured he was far from the GK hes gotten us used to. Iker is my favorite goalkeeper of all times. I saw him get his starter position and never leave it until now. And he lost it with all due justice, Lopez is doing his job and deserves to be playing. If Iker stops behaving like a spoiled kid he will get his spot back very soon. Mourinho was dead on when he said in different words that Iker had gotten too comfortable with the knowledge he doesn't get replaced. That is good coaching right there.    

he's club legend in fan's heart. but when it comes to who's in starting XI, legend status means nothing, at least for mourinho. And it brings madrid to a better place, they already won 18 match in 2013. Casillas will start, but not in these crucial stage. I have no problem if casillas made a mistake for 1-2 games. but the problem is he flopped in almost all of his match this season. Same goes to ronaldo. if he flops for around 20 match within several months, then he should sit on the bench. And does madrid write casillas will be guaranteed a place in starting XI in the contract? I think not. 

@TheTruth: when is mourinho took the captain band off casillas? and if mou hates casillas, he would've benched casillas since his arrival. but why he does it just when casillas flopped? why dont he does it since last season? bcs casillas is the one who did all the mistake things about who's in the starting XI has nothing to do with legend status, or how long somebody has been there. it's all about who performed better. for raul case, I agree that it's pathetic to make him leave, but that's the best for raul. if raul stayed, he wouldnt have any chance with benz or higuain, and you all will blame mou for destroying raul's career. when mou told him to go, you call it as direspect legend. and  ur pep kicked ronaldinho and deco bcs legend status has nothing to do with who's in starting XI

and the reason why tito still play puyol is bcs he respects puyol's status too much that makes him forget his job to fix defense problem. if barca buys hummels, where will puyol play? nah, just like I expected. my conclusion: club's importance should be more important than anyone on it bcs players come and go.

I miss him on the right wing, like he did In United, I dont know why Mourinho never use him in that position, He can play everywhere.
