what a goal from balotelli, you could tell he was pissed about how he has been treated this year, good too see bonucci cover his mouth, making sure he wouldn't say anything he'd regret.

so many people were being racists to him, wats the point of smiling

People are talking about Balotelli's goal and I can see why but I think what's really amazing is Antonio Cassano, just a few months back his life was in mortal danger or at the very least his footballing career but now he's back and he's scoring crucial goals for Italy! He's a living miracle.

Hi Anika,I saw your post at My Bella Vita so I decided to fololw the link to your blog.I know exactly you mean by love for a country. For many years, and it's still the case, I have been in love with Spain. I lived there for 2 years when I was in my 20s, and I have traveled there countless times just so I could get my fix. It's funny though, as much as I still love Spain, I am starting to feel that Italy is taking over in my heart. It's exciting because I have a whole new country to explore, and this time around, it's all connected to my heritage. Why did it take until now for this to happen? I don't know the exact answer to that question. I do know that this love affair with my ancestral roots has energized me and I feel very much like I did at 15 when I discovered Spain. La vita e bella!Jennifer

Balotelli's goal was beautiful, not as nice as Ibra's but with everything Mario has gone through this year, the meaning of it is so much more!! talking about the game, i think that Pirlo could of had a better game, even if he assisted to the goal he lost a bit too many balls... needs to get back to his old self for the England game.. MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN

i'm really mad that even Spanish people were being racist to mario Balotelli. this is why my dad told me to never go to Europe its way to racist. i feel sorry to the back people in europe.

Supporting a team with a record of 1 goal scored and 9 goals conceded, you guys should just went back to Ireland and never participate in the Euro competition again. Fuckin Racist Irish supporter. I hope Baloteli's goal will shut their mouth. Respect to Mario

Real-Barca 14 years ago

He scored the best goal ever, yet he was not happy because of the scar racism had left inside him....SAY NO TO RACISM PEOPLE.

Los Galacticos 14 years ago

Oh, cut the c.r.a.p. Balotelli has always been like this-never smiling and acting like a douche. That hasn't got anything to do with racism.

Glory Glory Man Utd 14 years ago

How do you know that he hasn't always been dealing with racism. Do you know anything about his childhood? Do you know anything about his personal life. I dislike him because I'm a Man Utd fan, but NOBODY should be the victim of racial abuse. It makes me sick to hear about it on the news and it is a stain on the beautiful game.

Ouch the Irish only scored 1 goal and conceded 9. That's gotta hurt the fans who came in their droves and sung their hearts out. Respect to them for that.

curious about what's balotelli said after scoring a goal, even bonucci try to shut his mouth....

truthteller 14 years ago

Bonucci said it was in english and he couldnt understand it, but he thought it had to do with the racist offenses against Mario and Bonucci wanted to prevent him from saying something he could regret.

haha 14 years ago

baloteli is only 21 years old? btw, why his mouth covered in celebration? i think he said bad things to the irish defender or some racism people? and the teammate immediately covered his mouth to prevent further consequences.

You'll be a lucky person to witness Mario celebrate his goal which he said he would only celebrate for his goal in euro final or world cup final.
