Why do city fans see this season as a failure even when there still in the running for the FA CUP?

they can still win the FA CUP why did they all lose hope.. if you remember City won the FA cup back in 2011.

My friend, they're probably "new" city fans, who aren't accustomed to losing.

not all say that. If they win the FA cup and finish 2nd most City fans I spoke to would say that was a good season.

In a way City's season is kind of a failure. Just about good though. Second and a potential FA Cup is just fine. But they're a big club now and we should be expecting them in the QF/SF of the CL at least. Instead they were humiliated in the group stages... which I think affected them mentally. That's why I think City's title defence has been poor.

They are hitting some good form now but United will reclaim the BPL title. SAF has done incredibly well to be at the top of the table with which I think is his worst United side in recent years. In the midfield area mostly.

They fell below expectations, that they are still in FA cup doesn't mean they will win it. City are 12 points behind United (United have been too strong though). They had another pathetic CL yet again. Malaga, a team worth half of city's, is in the QF. Also most transfers, Maicon, Sinclair, Garcia and Rodwell have been average signings.  I expected city to be at a higher level.

Rai is 100% on point. I made a thread a while back slating their average signings. They are decent at best.

Mancini recently said somewhere that he couldn't get the players he wanted during the last summer transfer window. The players he wanted to sign didn't want to join City. De Rossi was one of them. Javi Martinez. Daniel Agger even. lol.

Which City fans are you talking about? If you read the hyperbole laden garbage that is the daily mail, then maybe.
Have you seen the players being booed? The manager being booed? No.

We have played almost (say 90-95%) of the level we played last year, its United that has been much better. I don't even understand the Mancini out articles that some websites keep publishing. If you can beat United 3 times out of 4 PL visits in two years, you are a good enough manager in my books.
