Who I Wants Spurs To Buy This Summer

I've been thinking a lot about this lately, and I've actually come to the conclusion that I really would prefer not to go for some 'silver bullet' signing up-front, and instead go with a lot of cheaper, but promising players.

So, what I would LOVE to see in the upcoming transfer window would be:

Christian Eriksen
Samuel Umtiti
Son Heung-Min
Mohamed Salah
Cristian Tello
Mohamed Diame
Tom Ince

Forget signing David Villa. He's a legend, but he's also old and fragile, and I'm just not convinced he'd be what we'd need him to be, anyway. For the price Barcelona are asking for, we could pick up at least 2 of the names on my list (aside from Eriksen), and I think they'd be better investments.

How to pay for it all? Well, I'd push to sell the following:

Emmanuel Adebayor
Jake Livermore
David Bentley (yes, he's still ours :p)
Benoit Assou-Ekotto
Tom Huddlestone

We'd still need to stump up some serious cash for Eriksen, I believe, but aside from that, I think we'd be able to cover a large chunk of the transfer funds by selling off those guys.

Also, with the return of Danny Rose, Andros Townsend and any of our other young loanees deemed 'ready', I think Spurs would have excellent cover and rotation for AVB's favored 4-3-3 system. I'd see it line up as follows:

Lloris
Walker -- Kaboul -- Vertonghen -- Rose
Lennon -- Sandro -- Dembele
Bale -- Holtby -- Eriksen

With Holtby deployed as a No. 10, and Sandro holding down DM.

We'd have SO MUCH DEPTH on that formation, if we bought my youngsters, and I think it would be great.

Any thoughts?

Seriosuly? Assou Ekkoto out? The guy is a beast!!!!

And do you not want Higuain, Kaka, Vill, or Damio?

Spurs probably will sign Tello because of his release clause (It is 10 million)

Oh, I forgot. Sell Scott Parker too.

Rama, you need to watch him all season. He's virtually useless in defense, and costs us a huge number of points that way. If he were truly World Class going forward, that might be worth it, but, he's really not. I'd be happy to take 10m for him, from someone in Italy or France.

As for Higuain, Kaka, Damaio etc, sure, it'd be nice. However, we're not made of money like some clubs, and if we bought any of those three, we'd be spending most of our transfer budget on one signing.

That won't fix our squad depth issues. :/

@Lod: Well, I guess. Totthenham aren't exactly rich...

But with Villa, you never know. He could be really fed up and we might end up selling him for 11 mil..

@Enjoy: He's given every indication that he will, and Spurs have given every indication that they're not interested in selling him. I can only hope.

villa is even better than this time imo, he just needs stability, he scores in importants matches ( finals,WC....). if he get confident, he will cause a lot of damage. i always think that Legends shine in finals and world cup, villa is from this kind of players...

@lodatz i agree, villa's price is very high and he's not 18 yo, spurs should not buy him if their transfer budget is limited. but still spurs need players with C1 experience.

@tiki: oh, I agree that Villa is a great player -- just that like you say, he's no spring chicken any more. Since our funds are limited, I think we'd be better off looking to the future.

I'd certainly love to have him, if it didn't break our transfer budget.

I would LOVE to see Son playing for Spurs next season! He will follow Lee Young Pyo's footsteps, but as a left-back.

I think mohamed salah would be a pretty good signing

BAHAA Fabregas to Spurs and Song back to the gunners... Really though if Song wanted back in, I'd give him the pass. He's withering away on the Barça bench and when he does play it isn't the midfield role that I loved during his time at Arsenal. Shame shame.

Lodatz what do you think about the probability of landing Eriksen? Do you know if he does indeed favor Tottenham over other teams? Maybe AjaxDeSuperYids could drop some knowledge.

@ikoiko: From what I understand (and this is, of course, based upon the media), Spurs were the front-runners between themselves and Liverpool, due to the friendship Eriksen had/has with Vertonghen (his former captain).

However, since the news was leaked about Gotze moving to Bayern, apparently BVB have expressed an interest in Eriksen as well. Not sure how serious that interest is, but, it's hard to paint BVB as anything other than the most attractive option, if it's real.

I guess we'll have to see, but I certainly want us to try our hardest for him. I'd like to hear any thoughts from ADSY too.

@Lodatz, Lee Young pyo played for your club as a left-back. I mean if Son plays for your club, he won't be a left back like Lee, but a striker.

@Lodatz: Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min, Mohamed Salah and Cristian Tello are great players in my opinion, but they are all pretty small and "weak", do you think they will adjust to the BPL "harshness"?
