Welbeck vs. Balotelli

The stats back it up. Danny Welbeck has been a better striker than Balotelli in almost all departments this season. But who would you rather have as a player?

I think Danny Welbeck is more of a hardworking lad than Balotelli, but Mario on the other hand is more experienced. If Chelsea had no other choice than this 2 strikers, I would pick Balotelli. These stats don't help much to determine who is better it's only 5/6 appearances and each one play in a different style club. I think Balotelli would do exactly the same if he were under Wenger since the players will play around him. We will see at the end of the season though.

Ballotelli didn't impressed me for now in Liverpool.Welbz is good if it's played with tactics that he need (fast and clear balls to him).It happened right against Gala, where he was machine...

Balotelli is absolutely overrated. He had 1 assist at city in over 50 games. he's just known for his bad behaviour and his on and off pitch antics.

After seeing him play for us, I'd rather have welbeck. I liked him before he joined, but I didn't know him that well. Most people know him only as a winger, but his performances so far as a central striker have been really good. Balotelli has been hot and cold his whole career. Balotelli vs winger Welbeck I choose balotelli. Balotelli vs striker Welbeck I choose striker welbeck.

Balo is more skilful and more talented, Welbeck is a better player on the field. Ballo seems to doesnt care about his clubs result, he impressed in few games like Italy-Germany in 2012 but his problem is that imo he doesnt care much about results.
Its such a waste to see this, at 18 yo under Mourinho at Inter we all were saying that when he will mature, he would be the best striker of the world, time has passed and still no maturity or hardwork on and off the pitch.
His tweets are ridiculous, a shame for his club and country trolling England before being eleminated from the WC group stages, then trolling United while Liverpool isnt in better shape, thats Ballo for me.

From the view of a Liverpool fan, I must say Balotelli is nowhere near the standard required to lead the line at Liverpool. His workrate is utterly disappointing, he doesn't make those diagonal runs as Suarez, Sturridge or even Borini does and he seems to be waiting for the ball rather than to get the ball. And this is exactly the point we lack, a striker who is able press and get the ball back. Well, unfortunately Welbeck got those hardworking attributes which Balo is obviously lacking.

@ihaveabbc

Maybe you should look into midfield that was absolutely ineffective against Basel and does not feed Balotelli enough. He is overrated but descent to play for top club .

Very few appearances to make a conclusion out of those stats. Both are great players but very inconsistent.

Ive always commented on about how good Welbeck really is but previously I only got hate back from other users.

@Tuanis, to be fair not many United fans were happy to see him gone. But Falcao more than eased the pain.

Well, sadly in my case I have always said that Welbeck is underrated and Falcao is overrated... Lets see how this season ends for both of them.

Welbz anyday over Balo. Balo at the moment is definitely more talented than Welbz. But the potential for Welbz is a lot more than Balo. He just needs a proper coach with decent tactics.

I keep reading everywhere. "Balo is more talented." "Welbeck and Sturridge, harder workers." But what does that even mean. For me Balotelli is a myth. He's better in peoples minds than reality. Maybe because of his marketability as a player and eccentric character. People want him to be better than he actually is.

Balotelli has talent. He would need to be to have gotten this far as a professional player. How good is he really? People keep saying he needs to mature. The guy is 24 years old for goodness sake. That maturing thing is out the window.

Balo has one great game then is anonymous for the next 5. No consistency at all. Offers little to nothing all game and

while running the risk of getting sent off at any moment. That is not someone you want on your team.

At least a player like Torres who struggles to score is working hard and trying to do something. Discipline is a major issue for Mario.

When Balo was at Inter. I liked the guy. But over time, the frustration built and I just couldn't wait for him to be sold. It's like he never learns. Like a big baby dragging his feet around the pitch with his little temper tantrums at his team mates.

Hey Mario, how about you make a fu-cking run instead of standing there like a bag of potatoes. Watching him can raise your blood pressure.

But in that insanity there is a little spark. If you are ready to take the risk to wait to see it. It may win you a title or turn your club into a mid table team.

Look what happen at Milan. They brought Mario in to lead the lines. They brought him in for his experience. He was fantastic played well at the start. Played a big part in getting them a CL play off spot. Following season he just disappeared. Not going from strength to strength. Just crumbled. Some say he had problem in his personal life. All he said she said. In the end people will judge what he does on the pitch. We all have problems Mario, not all of us get paid millions to kick a ball around as a job. Some guy in a mine in South America is shaking hands with the Devil below the Earths crust to put food on the table. He sigh's at your ungratefulness.

He has had the Chance to forge a legacy in Inter, City, Milan and now Liverpool. Will it be the same story? Excuse after excuse about this mythical talent that we rarely see. Or is he finally going to grow a set of fu-cking balls and show the World what he can do.

We'll just have to wait and see. I'd love to see him do it. I would. He's a very likeable guy. Almost has a child like innocence to his personality. But for sure at the moment Welbeck and Sturridge though not as experienced are more complete players and I would rate their talent higher than Balo. Sturridge especially. Welbeck is a hard worker, fights for the team, tracks back. More dimensions than Balo.

I would rather have Welbeck and Sturridge than Balotelli right now. Good guy but too much of a risk.

I think Welbeck can prove a lot of people wrong once he stays fit. Balo seems to like controversy more than football. Seeing Welbeck get a run in Arsenal and scoring brings joy to my heart.

+1 Wolfie, by more talented i meant potential, i had teammates very talented but had very bad charachter, always choose the wrong decision, some are less talented but use their abilities at 110 per cent.
I would rather give a chance to the less talented player who gives it all rather than the promising potential who think highly of himself and walk on the pitch.

By saying Balo is more talented than welbeck, im not saying that Welbeck is sh*t, Balo for me had the potential of a future ballon d' or, he was already skilful at only 18, could have been a monster at 24.

I would rather have Welbz too in my squad, he is not Henry but still progressing and already a better player than Balo imo.
