I dont think there has ever been a more rapid and sucessful development of football anywhere in the world then Japan.

20-25 years ago, Japan and football had no real co relation.. there was no domestic league.. the national team hardly won anything. everything changed when they won the Asian cup in 1992. since then..Japan have 4 asian cup titles in 7 appearances. 4 world cup appearances, and many notable victories. now theres a league with quite easily the highest attendences in all of Asia.. with many AFC Champions league winners to the league's belt.

The nation's football atmosphere is so good, it has hosted multiple club world cups(6) and even a world cup in 2002.

all in the space of 20 years. i wish i was Japanese cause if your a football fan out there the excitement ever reaches an end. on any level!
