I feel that Mario Gotze is a HUGE candidate for this prize. He ought to replace RVP. Gotze led Dortmund to the finals of the CL, and it was him who orchestrated the defeats of Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Shakhtar. Notice how, when Gotze was playing, Dortmund beat Real 4-1 and 2-1, and tied them 2-2. And the moment he gets injured and limps off, Real win 2-0. And also when this kid doesn't play in the final, his team lose 2-1. I really am disappointed that Mario Gotze isn't on this list. RVP doesn't deserve his position, as he only scored 3 goals, and his team didn't go very far into the tournament. Gotze on the other hand, did. :(
@Lodatz
Ribery + Robben = Robbery ;)
My vote would go to either Ribery, Ronaldo, or Schweinsteiger. :D
All three put in so much effort for their teams. :')
Robben.. and still feel gutted since the day we let him go. he was one of my fav Chelsea players.
Ribery. Or Messi. (Have to Bias :) )
@AlexBatak
Ha! We had it worse. We had Robben AND Sneijder in 08-09. When Pelegrini came, he wanted to build his play around Sneijder, but to \"accommodate\" for \"space\" for Ronaldo and Kaka, those two were sold, and Pelegrini was furious at Perez. And guess what? Next season (09-10), both Robben AND Sneijder were in the Champions League final. Now you know how deep RM fans\' hatred for Perez goes. =.=
@Rama
Just saying, all those players on the list performed better than Messi in the CL this year (except RVP). Your name alone can\'t win you everything. :P
Zlatan
@Dynastian I guess... shame he had injury at the big games otherwise he would he acheived much more
@Rama
True, but you have to say, Bayern shut him out good. ;)
Injury or not, he couldn't have done anything against Bayern in that game. They were simply too good. O:)
^ You don't know that |) IF he was on the top of his game, playing and scoring goals and didn't get injured against PSG, you never know.
@Rama
He WAS healthy, mate. He himself said so. So did Barcelona's physicians. If he played even though he WASN'T fully recovered, then it's Tito's fault for not managing Messi's ego better. Playing him against Bayern in the first leg made his recovery even slower.
For Titles : Ribery
For stats : Messi, sorry Ronaldo fans, the only way he can win Ballon d' or over Messi is to win CL and la liga,Otherwihse keep dreaming.
Iniesta....
Ozil deserves to be on the list...
Well we all know that Messi is the best player in the world, Ronaldo is a close second, but all the others are miles behind. In terms of success I have to say Ribery had the best season, but Messi is still the best player in Europe.

@KingHenry
Oh, you're 100% correct. But that does not mean UEFA ought to give out the award to Messi. This award is given out annually to the player who's had the BEST season in Europe. So rightfully, it should go to Ribery or Schweinsteiger. Hence why, Messi and Ronaldo didn't win this last year, but Iniesta did.
If life and football is fair, this should go to Ribery. If life and football is not so fair then is would go to Schweinsteiger, and if it is completely unfair then it will go to someone else who doesn't deserve it as much.
@Tuanis
Nah man, Schweini deserves it too. He's the midfield general who makes up the Bayern squad. Without him, Bayern struggle like crazy, and they also lost to Arsenal 2-0 and BATE 3-1 when he wasn't playing. He's a big, big player in their squad, and has as much claim on the trophy as Ribery.
CANDIDATES
Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
Gareth Bale (Spurs)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG)
Robert Lewandowski (Dortmund)
Thomas Muller (Bayern)
Franck Ribery (Bayern)
Arjen Robben (Bayern)
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern)
Cristiano Ronaldo (Madrid)
Robin van Persie (United)
Who would you vote for? And who do you feel is left out/doesn't deserve a place on that list.
