We still remained in a European competition that season though, no?
ah that fabriy is a hater he can't stand the succes of chelsea
@chelsea8: Really? Was there a reason for insulting @fabryi? He didn't do anything wrong. Seriously... this forum these days.
i am ignoring every negative comments about chelsea.. 2 games we park the bus (defend superbly) and all the haters come out of their caves.. especially the arsenal fans
For f*ck's sake, this thread wasn't supposed to be an insult whoever pissed you off thread. It was supposed to cheer you guys up. Grow up, you two, you're probably going to turn this thread into another shit storm now.
i was just replying to your "Cheer up and ignore any negative comments about our club for the time being" wth....
@V
and that'd make the 3rd thread ruined in the last days. about Chelsea, all you need is a deadly strike force, that'll do.

@bluezz: "especially the arsenal fans..." are looking for a fight with the Gooners in this thread?
@shpalman: This forum is becoming shittier and shittier as each day passes. And why this thread, one that was meant to be positive and optimistic? Anyway, I believe you're right about that. We need a proper strike force (and maybe Courtois) and we'll be all set. By the start of next season our younger players will have improved greatly as well, especially if they played in the World Cup.

@Vendetta i meant in the match highlights.. go to chelsea vs atletico match highlights and you'll see for yourself -.- i didnt even read the comments in this thread before i posted mine, so stop assuming.
It doesn't matter if you didn't read the comments here or if you're directing at the highlight section. You still brought up Arsenal fans in general and that is enough to spark a flame war with at least one Gooner here. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to be rude or argue with you. I'm just trying to prevent this thread from turning into another wasted post.

I didn't insult him? I was just saying that i see him always disrespecting chelsea and I as a big fan love to defend my club that i'm supporting, and sorry for my bad english.
This is why you rarely see me have debates and discussions on FR. I'd love to but threads around here get sour pretty quick, unfortunately. It's such a same really.
I would say that Mou's first season back with Chelsea has been relatively successful. I'm sure they'll make a statement of intent this summer with a major signing or two which will no doubt strengthen their squad as well as their league and cup aspirations for next season.
However, I still think Mou is a distasteful human being. Calling Wenger a specialist in failure is just uncalled for. Great manager though.

@chelsea8: Calling him a hater and how he can't stand Chelsea' success (in other words, he's jealous) is definitely going to provoke him or anyone else you could have said that to.
@Gunner: I can't excuse Mourinho for that comment. He didn't have to go there with Wenger (even though I found it true and funny, sorry Gooners) but you guys tend to forget that Wenger's the one who sparked that feud. He was the one who started it by saying Mourinho is only driven by "his fear of failure". He's the one who wanted to pick a fight and went over the top first, yet everyone acted like Wenger's comments never happened and that Mourinho is the devil's incarnate for making such a 'vile' comment.
It *really* pisses me off.

First you need to understand that the match highlight coments are a blackhole of stupidity and i wouldn't spend a single minute arguing with people there.
Second, not everyone hates on your club. Some people criticize a team for its style of play tactics players and everything else. In stead of insulting or gloating, you can defend your club with a logical well thought out and defended arguement. Its not a common thing in this forum but there is 2 or 3 people that do it.
You have to remeber that you are never ever guaranteed succes not even when you have the best players, form, coach, money. Chelsea making it to the semifinals and loosing to a current league leader, there is no shame in that. It sucks going trophyless but hey, theres always next season.
^Who are you directing that comment to?
V, to no one in particular. What happens in highlights stays in highlights. The rest can be applied to anyone but its for you guys to cheer up.
Btw, isnt everyone afraid of failure?
Now lets get some real discussion up ey?
@raimondo: Completely agree with your comment about the highlight section. Absolutely hate that place. It should be removed imo. Comments on goals or whatever aren't necessary. Most of the times, the top comment is a one of those 'witty' comments anyway. Something like "Haha Madrid! Nice job getting owned from Atletico again, Chelski!". It's childish
You're right everyone is afraid of failure but Wenger believed Mourinho's determination was heavily motivated by his fear of failure. As if Mourinho only manages the way he does because he fears failing. That's bullsh*t, Wenger doesn't know what Mourinho is thinking and clearly thinks Mourinho always plays it safe. No, Mourinho plays it much riskier than people think. "Mouinho walks on a tightrope" was one of the lines I read in an article yesterday and it's so true. Because one mistake made in a Mourinho team and it could be all over for his tactics for the game.
But what pissed me off the most about the feud between the two managers was how Wenger was seen as some sort of innocent saintly manager when he was actually the instigator of the fight. Mourinho on the other hand "is what ruins football" because of his reply. Who wouldn't reply to Wenger's comments? SAF would have, Pep would have, Simeone would have probably even said worse. But Mourinho is Mourinho so whatever he says is evil mindames.
How annoying.
Anyway, thanks for the support, rai. Like you said, there is always next year and I'm sure with the right purchases and player improvement (with the help of the World Cup too), we could shock Europe.
V, what was Mou thinking fielding 6 defenders against atleti? Ive never seen Azpi play in CM or RM. I missed the game due to classes but the only reasoning i could make out was, score a goal shift to a 5 or even 6 man back line? and from highlights, all of atleticos goals seemed to be caused by aweful defending mistakes leaving players unmarked in the box. thats not typical of chelseas level of defense.
Actually, Chelsea were doing good until the end of the first half. In fact, it was back on forth most of the first half and we actually got the first hit too. It all went downhill though. You're on point even though you didn't watch the match, stupid defensive mistakes is what ruined the game. Schwarzer, Cole, and Terry all could have gotten the ball during Atletico's first goal. The second was a retarded tackle by Eto'o and the the third was just defenders turned to stone.
Personally, I wouldn't blame Mourinho's tactics at all. Even though you could say I worship him, I am saying this from a neutral perspective. His tactics were spot on and were going to his plan perfectly. We weren't parking the bus either. It was an open game for each side. His players though, decided to have a couple of brain farts that ended the game for us. The match yesterday really showed me how the tiniest of details can change the result. Atletico were just more alert and intelligent yesterday. They did a fantastic job.
Cheer up and ignore any negative comments about our club for the time being. I know you want to defend our club but it's expected considering our reputation. Just let it slide for now. Now let's get to the point.
If I told you back in November 2012, when Roberto Di Matteo was sacked, that we would take part in the race for the EPL title, thrash our London rivals Arsenal 6-0 and Tottenham 4-0 each, see United finish out of the top 5, (probably) be the ones to stop Liverpool from winning the EPL (thank god), not lose to a top 4 team at all this season in the EPL, do a Napoli again on PSG after an emotional aggregate comeback, make it to the CL semi-finals, and most importantly, have Mourinho as our manager once again... would you guys really have even dreamed of something like that in just one season after RDM's sacking?
The answer is clearly no. We were a big disappointment yesterday against Atletico and there is no excuse for our loss. They were simply better than us. But don't let that one match get to you. We defied the odds once again in a quarter final match and at least we got past the group stages this time. But here is a couple of things to remember. Number One: We have been England's main representatives for European competitions for quite some time now. Number Two: How long have we been their main representatives you ask? 1038 days (about three seasons), that is how long we've haven't been knocked out from a European competition. It started in 2011 and ended yesterday against Atletico. Just look at this:
As for the EPL, there is a high chance we will finish third once again but as of now, we still have a chance of winning the EPL. Isn't that amazing?! Last year there was no chance since United were twenty points ahead of us at the top of the table. Look at them now, we should be thankful we didn't suffer the same fate as they did. So be optimistic!
Lastly, please remember that this is a TRANSITIONAL period for our club. Almost all of our old guards have left and many have left already. Most likely, Lampard or Cech are up next to leave the club. Maybe even Cole as well. And while that does leave a bitter taste in every Chelsea fan's mouth, it also comes with a fantastic spice for the future. One that blends the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle, Salah, Van Ginkel, Kalas, Chalobah, Azpilicueta, Courtois, Lukaku, Omeuro, and many many more. The future is bright at Chelsea. We might not win anything this season but I'm happy enough with third place in the EPL (and Liverpool not being first) and being CL semi-finalists. We never were going to do anything big in Mourinho's first season back at Chelsea, especially with such a young squad. Like the article I posted yesterday said, people just think the words 'Mourinho' and 'transition' can't be in the same sentence. Just leave those guys alone because they're clearly in denial.
Be patient. I guarantee you guys in one or two seasons we'll be the best in England once again. We're going to take the EPL by storm and be a force to reckon with in Europe as well. It will be like 2004-05 again, except it will take some time.
So far now, remember to always keep the blue flag flying high!
