there are some problems with ArenA we try and fix tho. the colours of the seats are bad. this is being changed over next 2 years with red and white seats to be installed accross whole stadium
other issues are the large gap between pitch and fans which we are fixing too atm
I'm glad they're putting in more seats, to bring the seating closer to the play.
I hate these new, gigantic stadiums which double up as race-tracks and whatnot. There's no atmosphere, and the crowd are held miles away from the pitch. A football stadium should be a football stadium. A stadium for watching football, preferably as close to the action as possible.
yeah and i dont like uniform bowls either. that is another issue with The ArenA. we might one day put dormers on top of stands north and south to increase capacity to 60k. so there would be third tier on north and south.
i think ppl recognise the fans close to pitch issue now at last. the new stadia of france/italy will show this.
Well i mostly agree with Lodatz but in Sout America where (in most stadiums) the pitch isnt that close to the stands its still an awsome atmosphere..
Getting gosebumps just seeing this:
Very true. They know how to party, down South. I can't wait for the World Cup in Brazil. There won't be another like it for decades.
look at this what lille new stadium can turn into ha ha! this is large picture so hope doesnt brake the thread :)
whats happening with Lilles stadium..?
Is that roof... permanent? O.o
the pitch slides of i think and stsdium folds in half to make music events and hockey :)
the roof can open and close lodat
this shows more
Chelsea have recently been looking for a much bigger stadium to or landmark for sale to move to a new stadium. The only problem is some land of the Bridge is owned from CPO shareholders and fans. As long as Chelsea doesn't have full shares of the bridge, we can't move or inves into a new sadium straight away.
Some landmarks Chelsea looked at:
Earls Court
Batteresa Power Station (unsuccessful, even though Chelsea had models made for it, and big plans):
nice design. what is capacity plan? the fans dont wish to leave tho?
For Earls Court, I'm not sure. For Batteresa, it was going to be a 60,000-70,000 seater. I wish Chelsea were able to buy Batteresa Power Station :(.
Thought it be good idea to have a thread dedicated to stadiums. we can post pictures of the homes of our teams and let each other know of their history, plans to renovate them or plans to build new stadiums :)
