I still vote Ronaldo for Balon'dor because Messi only turns up a few times a year. The amount of times Ronaldo saves RM per season, including this year is unreal.

It was sarcasm. There's no chance Ronaldo deserved 4 balon'dor. One of the most overrated players of all time, Messi is one of the most underrated players of all time. Ronaldo is lucky people are still comparing him to Messi.

Not the best joke but I don't feel that Ronaldo has been up to par with Messi this season, considering Ronaldo is being nominated for Balon'dor again. And no it's not because he played for United.

In the end the trophies count.

I thought Messi was better over the entire season. He does lose some points in my book for totally disappearing when he was needed vs Juventus, and deferring to Neymar who got them out of the PSG mess.

However, it is an individual award, and although I've been very impressed with Ronaldo's CL knockout round performances, he'd probably need to score a hat-trick in the final or something at this point.

Messi was far from disappearing in Juve first leg. All Barca chances came from him, is it Messi fault if his magic pass to Iniesta didnt ended as a goal ? No he did the perfect pass and then it was up to his teammate to beat Buffon. Same case on his key pass to Suarez both saved by Buffon.
When your midlefield cant deliver and you get denied the box zonally and you still create chances that doesn't get converted into goals, what is your mistake? That people are not good enough to appreciate your work ? Or just don't get that this game is more than pushing a goal into a net...

Im not debating who got a better season, such a waste of time with people who watch 2 Cl games a season from these players. There is no single doubt about who got a better season.

Messi's had a great individual season, and throughout better than Ronaldo, but mainly because he's played more games. Ronaldo played how many La Liga games this season, 25? CR7 has in the end carried his team to the La Liga title and CL final, and I won't say it's right or wrong that Ronaldo will get the Ballon d'Or just for that, but whether we like it or not, he will get his 5th Ballon d'Or if RM win the final. Most likely even if they lose it, depending on how Portugal do in the upcoming tournament.

He played 29 games, only 5 less than Messi. And he didn't carried them, even Ramos got more winners or equalisers so get your stats straight.
