I wonder if Man U is still keen on Strootman from PSV...
If we aren't getting Cavani then just stick to Lukaku (which I would prefer over Cavani as well). I rate him as a better striker than Jovetic at the moment.
I would rather get Lewandowski than Cavani. simply because they are asking too much for him, and Lewandowski would fit great with our type of players.
^Too late, Lewa wants to join Bayern over any other team.
@ikoiko It seems like Manchester United are still keen to sign him. However, PSV told United that: Kevin Strootman is not for sale.
Erm, Ba is set to move away from Chelsea. We already missed out on signing Falcao, Lewandowski and prolly Cavani. That means we will have only Torres and Lukaku and maybe Schurrle as a strikers. We need at least one more decent striker.
So we don't get Mkhitryan or Atsu, Suarez is obviously leaving, we have no European football and no one to replace Suarez leaving. Well, it's looks like we're going to do well next season :D
lol nandaYNWA
I feel you mate. But I'm pretty sure you will sign someone who can replace him with the same amount of money if not half. You already signed:
GK - Simon Mignolet from Sunderland.
ST - Luis Alberto from Sevilla.
DF - Kolo Toure from Man City.
ST - Iago Aspas from Celta. A Good signing btw.
I said back in January that Ba would be offloaded, come the summer. It was a terrible move for Newcastle, for the player, and didn't really do Chelsea that many favors either.
@Lodatz I agree with you, he shouldn't have left Newcastle. But he surely helped us stay on top 4 last season. The question is was it worth it? knowing that he won The Europa League with us. and now on his way to Russia. I'm not sure if his salary will be increased too. and He was Sturridge replacement. :)
@Alex
But remember, there's immense racism in Russia. He might earn a lot of money, but I doubt he'll enjoy it or stay there for long. :/
We'll probably see him finding difficulty after this to go to a new club where his personal goals are suited. His wage demands are increasing with every transfer. :/
@Dynastian98 You are right mate, It's still not sure whether he is going to Russia or not. we still don't know. As for me I would like him to stay with us or stay in The EPL :) Maybe Spurs can sign him up ;) He is not that expensive. and he is better than Adebayor and Defoe to me. Maybe Lodatz agrees with me on that maybe not :)
@Dynastian Eto'o sounds like he doing well
Doesn't he get paid like 25m a year though? Of course he will be doing well lool.
@Alex: I totally agree. I would have loved Ba (or Cisse, for that matter) at the Lane.
Btw, your Transfer posts are awesome, and please keep them coming just the way they are.
Not to upset the applecart but BA was NOT as cheap as people think. His buy-out clause was indeed £7m BUT he has a massive entrouage of lawyers/family members/agents that cost the club in actuality, closer to £14m. Now, add to that the rumours of large wages and he becomes slightly less of a "no-brainer" for a club like Spurs. That's why he's being linked to money clubs in Russia.
IMO, he was never a long term plan for Chelsea. He was bought to help ensure they made it over the CL line (which, to be fair they did). He did what he was bought to do. I think the plan was always to either a) try and ship him out this summer (like Lodatz said) or b) if he refuses, take the hit on his wages while he plays second string/is benched.
@Ramaboy & tdot2barca Good points.
@Glory_Hunter If you have a better idea to improve it, I would be more than glad to hear it from you. Just comment on my profile wall. :)
@Lodatz Thanks mate :)
@Footaholic I couldn't agree more with what you said. I just wish him to stay in the EPL, he deserves to start every game but unfortunately he is not in Mourinho's plans.
@Alex: Anzhi have denied interest in Ba so I think we're safe with Lukaku, Torres and Ba as our three strikers.
@Vendetta I like Ba but I have to agree with Mourinho regarding Ba & Torres. both of them are not going to give Mourinho what he wants and they didn't fit with our midfielders that much to convince him enough. He called Torres a "So and So". He wants a clinical finisher and a fast player upfront to fit with our attacking midfielders. :)
^That's why Lukaku is there. Also, Torres may be a "so and so" to others, but 23 goals in a season, no matter how many competitions he played in, is impressive (can you actually show me a link of Mourinho saying that too?). Plus, they're not supposed to be Aguero level. We just need one great striker (Lukaku), one good striker (Torres), and one decent striker (Ba).
