@Vendetta well you will propably ingore any comment I make from now on, so I think we can call it quits. It was a good arguement. I still kind of believe in my side of the arguement more. However, I also agree with you on many of the things that you said, so good game. Maybe I'll find myself on the opposite side of the arguement tomorrow after Man United's game. But we'll see. I am out.

@KingHenry: Literally speaking, we do have strikers. But in the terms of how good our strikers are, it's safe to say only one is consistent, and that's Eto'o. Sure we sold Sturridge and loaned Lukaku but we had our reasons for it. Sturridge was sold in Rafa's tenure. Had Mourinho been the manager I'm sure he would have done something else. Lukaku on the other hand is really talented but raw. People look at how many goals he scored but his goalscoring record isn't enough. If you really watch Lukaku as much as I do, you would spot his first touches are heavy, his passes are inaccurate, his dribbles mess up a lot, and he's slow to react when linking up with players. Don't get me wrong, Lukaku will be a fantastic striker over time but as a club that aims to win trophies, we need a world class striker in his prime (or nearing it) now. Unless Lukaku develops in an insane rate come World Cup 2014, I see no reason why we shouldn't opt for Costa and just pay 32 million. How else are we going to aim for the league?

@Ven

But where would Costa go afterwards? Undoubtedly Lukaku will be the better player in 3 years, so where will Costa go? One of them will have to sit on the bench. Just like Torres, Ba, and Eto'o have to suffer right now. There will only be one striker playing, and two on the bench.

When it comes to that, it will be up to Mourinho to decide which player suits his style more. In the end it will be a win-win situation for us. We will keep one world-class striker who is a perfect fit for our team's tactics and sell the other for a large sum.

@kinghenry

Physically they are there , you are right :)) Today they were there performance wise !! We are happy that they did not let us down when it mattered the most !!! Yes we get frustrated with them because bad performances happen more often than they should in top club like Chelsea . However, if I was you I would be the last person to say anything because Arsenal fans week and week out bashing on one of the best playmaker in the world , strikers and one of the best coach in the world . Rest of you as well , don't be hypocrites .

@fabryi easy to turn tables and call Chelsea fans arrogant . Not long ago when Arsenal was on top of the table , Arsenal fans were more arrogant than we could ever imagine . Just go to Arsenal fan channel , now you all sit quiete about your club but loud about our club and call us arrogant because we say something that was proven not for the first time . We rule the London and best club in EPL is Chelsea . Get over it . It is a cycle . You will be back one day .

I think Chelsea's defense deserves a lot of credit tonight. As for Chelsea's strikers, I don't think they are bad because they lack sufficient talent, but that the goal-scoring impetus seems to lie much heavier on the 3 attacking midfielders behind the striker that they naturally do not get enough support at times. When I think of a center forward, the number one quality I look at is their hold up play and how well they can get others into the game. That type of striker is best suited in Mourinho's system. Not the out and out goal-scorer who can get at the end of a cross, but ones who can individually pose a threat as well. I don't think Ba or Torres possess enough of that ability. Eto'o does but he is way past his prime.

Sorry Ven, It was a hilarious thread but like Dyna said, it is pointless to make a thread to mock people.
