THE 30 MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS ACROSS EUROPE’S TOP FIVE LEAGUES
Jimbet 9 years ago
Arsenal, Malaysia 12 1292

The CIES Football Observatory published today its bi-annual list of the 100 big-5 league players with the highest transfer values. The latter were estimated on the basis of an exclusive algorithm. The valuation is based on an econometric model created by the CIES Football Observatory research team from the analysis of over 1,500 paying fee transfers occurred since 2010. The criteria taken into account refer to both the performance and personal characteristics of players (age, position, contract duration, etc.), as well as to the competition level and results of their employer club and national team represented (if any).

More information on the indicators included in the algorithm is available in the sixth edition of the CIES Football Observatory Monthly Report. Moreover, a player value calculator is freely available Online Here. It is based on a less sophisticated algorithm including only data accessible to the general public. Although less precise than the statistical model used for these estimates, its predictive power is also high.

@Jimbet This is good to know. Good one, roommate.

Look at starboy Harry Kane in fifth place. Hazard over Ronaldo.

Hazard over Ronaldo and Suarez.

Coutinho over Lewa, Muller, and Bale.

Fabregas over James.

I cannot comprehend this.

Anyone noticed beginning of the season kane was off form. Then eriksen comes back from injury and kane starts scoring. Ok so what I'm trying to say is eriksen is worth more than coutinho or icardi or ozil or fabregas or higuain.
Also why the absolu te heck is Icardi there.

Fabregas, Icardi, and Higuain and can get out of there. And I'd put Dybala, verratti, in top 15. James 3rd.

Koke, isco, james, eriksen and many other CAMs are worth more than coutinho. I'd pay 60m for koke and only 40m for coutinho.

If "personal characteristics" are looked at? Diego Cunta would be 38 billionth.

Hazard need to find his form back if he want to keep his price tag. And I'm I the only who realised that with his £66m pricetag, Raheem his the sixth most valuable footballer in europe, put his position next to his prize and we get (666), funny, don't you think? Also, Diego Costalot.

Even taking those into consideration, it's ridiculous.

This is just some logarithm that comes up with the value, it does not reflect real life market value.

^real life market value way way more expensive though.. i believe neymar's evaluation was 140 mil.. not sure in euro or pound.. rumors that united are desperate to get him.. just rumors though.. but that number is HUGE!!

Ozil only 38 mil ... hmm I am sure we bid for him next season his price tag will escalate up to 65 at least .

Seems pretty accurate but then we've got a few surprises that just feels inaccurate and extremely over valued with consideration of their age..

Harry Kane (Tottenham) – £67m -- Just ridiculous..
Anthony Martial (Manchester United) – £58m <- I guess because he was recently signed for a ridicolous fee and is very young on top of that. No doubt thought that he'll reach this number in the future though..
Diego Costa (Chelsea) – £48m -- Doubt it.. More like 35..
