Soldado looks like Almunia on crack? Hahaha Nice video!
Lame.
Seriously, this is the best y'all can do? I guess I'd be clutching at such straws too, if my club has just broken their all-time transfer record for a player who was cast aside after his former team just broke the world record by signing OUR best player. ;) Can you say.... panic buy?
Enjoy your big-name signing. I'll enjoy watching your sub-standard defense, predictable wingers and fragile DMs fail to make Ozil's talent count for anything.
Does anyone know where the original clip of this scene is from? Like what movie?
If you watched the clip from the actual movie, it gets a little depressing.
What's the actual movie called?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downfall\_(film)
Kind of ironic, really, given that the movie shows the breakdown of a once-arrogant, rather contemptible monolith of delusional purism, living off past glories and failed promises, who everyone else hates for being such a bunch of arrogant pricks. Kind of like this lot:
How long until we see those signs again, eh? I give it two losses.
@ tdot2barca the movie is called "Downfall" in English and "Der untergang" in German.
Lodatz would of been the last person on here who I thought would take this video seriously, oh boy.

@GunnerAFC: It's because the video so excellently typifies exactly how the majority of Arsenal fans think.
The sneering tone, the not-funny 'jokes', the arrogance and hypocrisy, the hollow, almost desperate laughter at calling someone else a 'failure', despite yourselves having not won a trophy in 8 years...
... yeah.
'Hilarious'. :p
I'm honestly surprised by your outburst. I didn't mean any harm by posting the video. It's just banter... terrible banter to you it seems but I have many Spurs supporters as friends and they seemed to enjoy it.
I'm not gonna reply to your posts above because I see no point in further adding to the situation. Sorry for getting you riled up. Lets leave it at that.
@Gunner:
I apologize.
I realize that you didn't mean any harm, and I think it's just because I've been reading a lot of articles today on various blogs, and perusing a lot of forums, where there's been a lot of 'banter', the majority of which got particularly vicious.
The North London divide is a deep one, as you know, and there are places where it's a lot more dark, nasty and personal than on FootyRoom's forum. I can sometimes forget that.
I'm sorry for getting so riled up. I'll drop it.
I think the Bale news finally got Lodatz, hard luck mate I know the feeling losing your favorite player to Madrid :( stay strong buddy.
@gunner this video was hilarious.
dont cry, we have lasgne for dinner... the best part haha. Hilarious video. Anyways Tottenham lost to arsenal without Ozil so it is basically the same. For some reason Arsenal always play their best games in the season against Tottenham but I still think that they wont finish above them, Tottenham has invested wisely on transfers, and Ozil himself wont win Arsenal the 4th place.
"We'll be playing unheard of teams here, here and here on Thursday nights and no one will care" , "AND WHO THE FUCK IS CHADLI ???" LMAO, btw guys who's Chadli ?
Also, Ozil makes arsenal title contenders. We have one loss in 15 games with our "sub standard defense", what we were missing last season was attacking flair. Now we have the killer pass with ozil, and Giroud seems to deliver so far, and we might go for another striker in january. There is no way NO WAY arsenal ends up outside the top 4.
Oh and Ozil a panic buy ? One of the very best players in the world ? Think again.
"Oh and Ozil a panic buy ? One of the very best players in the world ? Think again"
Why? He seems to fit the very definition of a panic buy. He's not what you needed, he only became available because he was dropped from favour on a heartbeat, and Wenger still failed to shore up any of the departments which actually needed work.
"There is no way NO WAY arsenal ends up outside the top 4."
Think again. ;)
I mean, seriously, KingHenry, think about this.
When you say that Ozil makes Arsenal title contenders, I think you're forgetting that the assists department was already actually well covered by Cazorla. And Wilshire. So, both of those guys will now be shunted around to new positions, just to make room for the guy who is now there to do their jobs for them.
And who is surrounding him? Who does he have to work with, and how do they compare to what he is used to?
He's used to Ronaldo, Benzema, Di Maria, Modric and Alonso.
He's now going to have to make do with Walcott, Giroud, Ramsey and Wilshire, in a league which is decidedly more defensive-minded than the one from which he has come. Do you believe that he'll have the same space and freedom to work with as in La Liga, and even if he does, do you think that the players around him are capable of what his former team-mates could do?
Like Tuanis said: Ozil himself won't win you 4th place, let alone enable a push for the title.
He's a magnificent player,t here is absolutely no question of that, and if he had joined the Arsenal team of, say, 3 years ago, when you still had Nasri, RVP, Fabregas and Song, then you might have had a point.
Instead, he's joining a team that only managed to nick 4th place last season by 1 single point, after a 3-month long run against the bottom half of the table, with no other competitions to distract or fatigue them.
What you needed was not one, single, dazzling signing, in the department that you were already most covered. You needed a new striker, like Jovetic, Benzema, or Higuain. You needed a new DM, like Di Rossi, Capoue, or heck, even Xabi Alonso. You needed new wingers, such as Di Maria, or Eriksen, because let's face it: Podolski isn't cutting it. You needed more help at RB, unless you are truly pinning your hopes on Jenkinson in the event that Sagna gets injured again. And you sure as hell needed a new goalkeeper, to teach or replace the one who can't even hold down the #1 spot for Poland.
You needed 4 or 5 players, in various positions, and NONE of them were a new play-maker.
Instead, Wenger blew 42m on a new play-maker (which btw means he gave Tottenham 42m, since it only happened to recoup the Bale money), to paper over the cracks of a threadbare squad, and banked on you lot being so high from scraping a 1-0 at home (by parking the bus, no less) against our new squad, that you'd forget for a few weeks how little he's actually done to fix your situation. ;)
You have a world-class player; no-one can deny that. But he's the only one left, and he only just arrived.
We'll see how you're doing at Christmas, after your squad is done fending off this year's tightest CL group...
The only thing I agree with is the need for a second striker. We signed Flamini, and people laugh saying how he was free but you know what ? He is a former arsenal player, has bads of experience, is very vocal, and most importantly he's ruthless and scares the crap out of players. Unlike most of our midfielders (except Jack) he can be fucking dirty. And that was what we really lacked.
We did sign a goalkeeper to compete with Szczesny, and Szczesny can be class on his day anyways. Still think he can do a good enough job for arsenal. We don't need cover at RB, we have sagna, arguably the best RB in the league over the last 5 years, and Jenkinson who's coming along nicely. Second best defense in the league should I remind you ?
Sooooo, we did answer some of our needs, only the striker question is still relevant, but you know what ? Who wouldn't want to be fed through balls from Ozil ? You say we don't need Ozil ? One of the best players in the world ? Everyone needs Ozil. If you can't admit that Ozil was the best signing of an EPL team this summer you are deluded. Maybe you think Soldado is really worth 30m. LOL
Now that people know that Arsenal are back in business and pulled 42m out of their warchest people made fun of for a couple years, every player will consider us. A world class striker will come to Arsenal, and many other players will follow.
And you know why all the ManU and Chelsea fans root for Spurs over Arsenal ? You think it's because you are a more likeable club ? No, it's because they want Arsenal to fail, because we are their rivals. Because we are a big club, unlike Tottenham. Deal with it.
Oh and also, last week was the last time this season you were above us. I hope you had time to enjoy it, I definitely enjoyed watching our team beating your 100m squad.
"Everyone needs Ozil. If you can't admit that Ozil was the best signing of an EPL team this summer you are deluded."
See, this is where the problem lies. You really believe that, don't you? You really think that Arsenal have stunned the football world, and that Ozil transferring to Arsenal is a game-changer, and or alters the power dynamics of the league, don't you?
Here's a clue: NO-ONE ELSE THINKS THIS.
Why exactly are Chelsea going to be scared of you? Why exactly are United or City, going to be worried? Even Spurs don't have a whole lot to worry about, considering we dominated you at home, and forced you, yes YOU, of ALL TEAMS, into parking the bus and finishing the game with 6 defenders, ;)
Don't you get it? No-one cares, either about your team, or your brand new signing.
"No, it's because they want Arsenal to fail, because we are their rivals."
Since when? When was the last time Arsenal were a rival of anyone at the top? You wanna know how many points you took from the entirety of the Top 6, last year? It was 7 points. 7. And 3 of those includes the win you got against a 10-man Spurs.
10 games = 7 points for you, against your 'rivals'.
And what about Europe? Who, exactly, quakes in their boots, when they see they've been drawn against Arsenal? Barcelona? LOL. Madrid? Hell, even with Ozil, they've laugh at you. Bayern? They can send out their B-team against you again, like they did in the Allianz Arena. BVB? They play better football than you by a country mile. Juventus? That's, possibly, more your speed, but I can't see them trembling.
Don't you get it? You're NOT a contender. And Ozil doesn't make you one, either. THAT's what's so obnoxious about this video -- you really, truly think that anyone actually cares about your transfer, or that anyone sees you as a threat. They don't. At all. Even with Ozil. No-one "hates Arsenal" because they want a 'rival' to fail. No-one takes you that seriously enough anymore. Instead you're a constant Since-Arsenal-Last-Won-A-Trophy meme generator, and people laugh at Arsenal failing for the same reason they laugh at Liverpool failing -- you're both a team who used to be great, but have faded, and yet your fans still act as though you should be treated as one of the 'big boys'. That's why you treated coming 4th last year as though you'd won the league -- it's one more year you don't have to face the reality that you're not in The Club an longer. And it's also why you celebrated scraping a 1-0 against Tottenham as though it was the best result of the season for you. It probably WILL be your best result of the season, too. Just like last year. ;)
I kept my mouth shut, and didn't say a word on the Ozil thread, because I'm not that kind of person. I have no wish to antagonize even Arsenal fans, over something they're so excited about.
But when you try and claim all that crap here, on a thread about a video that tries to make fun of, and laugh at Spurs, and try to rub your 'big signing' in their faces...? Yeah, you open yourself up for a bitchslap back to reality. And I'm happy to provide one.
The keeper you've picked up is nowhere near the level you need, and neither is the Polish Pianist, either. Jenkinson is nothing more than your typical "might be one for the future!" player, which only gets exposure because he's English. Truth be told, so is Jack Wilshire. Flamini is someone players are scare of? LOL. Sagna the best RB in the league? LOL. Next you'll be telling us that Walcott is better than Bale, and Reyes was better than Ronaldo.
Remember that? ;)
looks like this thread turned into a warzone! chill out guys.. or get a room.. we're not title contenders? every f-ing team in EPL are entitled to be TITLE CONTENDERS dude.. if not then why the hell they fight for the league trophy.. why dont we relax n see the outcome of our beloved EPL.. Ozil haven't played yet so no need to get rilled up on making any thoughts about the future.. lay back relax and enjoy the show.. no need for any hate guys..
Hilarious.
