Group A sees lebanon the first team in either group to be eliminated from qualification contention after there 1-1 draw with South Korea. The point ensures South Korea will be guaranteed atleast a playoff place and stays ahead of Uzbekistan on goal difference. Qatar's loss to Iran means they can not qualify automatically and must hope for a playoff spot, the spot witch Iran currently holds at 10 points and still hoping to qualify.

In group B, Japan is the first team to qualify directly to the world cup after a 1-1 draw with Australia.. Australia is in a playoff spot with 7 points ahead of jordan on goal difference. Australia are 2 points behind Oman who beat bottom but not eliminated Iraq 1-0 in Muscat. Nobody has been guarenteed a playoff or automatic spot or been eliminated yet, so with 2 more rounds left everything still to play for for everybody but Japan.

We have to win the next two matches against Iran and Uzbekistan. Thankfully, they're playing in Seoul and Ulsan so we have home support. LETS GO KOREA!

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF REGULAR QUALIFIERS AND GROUP A HAS BEEN SET.

Iran won in South Korea today and send themselves to Brazil alongside South Korea.. this means alot to Iran after national politics has left there nation crumbling under pressure and the Iranian people have something to cheer about :)

Uzbekistan whipped Qatar 5-1 but due to Iran's victory it can only put them in the playoffs vs Oman or Jordan of group B.

In group A.. Australia beat already eliminated Iraq to go to the world cup once again and leave Jordan and Oman only hopeful of a playoff place.

Jordan and Oman will faceoff in Amman in about 25 minutes from now for the last playoff place against Uzbekistan.

DAMN. Uzbeks so unlucky. Same points and only 1 less goal difference to South Korea.
Hopefully they'll make it through to the the intercontinental play-offs with South America's 5th place team (no easy feat). All due to 1 goal...

BTW, all politics aside, iran has been looking good. Don't know what's happened to Iraq.

Final whistle in Amman, Jordan will face Uzbekistan in the playoffs on September 6th and 11th!

Korea barely got through. We, as sad I as it is, didn't deserve to qualify. We are the luckiest team in the world to be honest. I will be looking forward to better things from my countries in Brazil with Hyung Myung Bo.
