It will be weird not saying BPL, but it does make sense. It's not Bud Light's La Liga, why should it be Barclay's Premier League?

@Sun: well, it's called Liga BBVA, which is a bank
Well, it didn't take long time
it looks way too cartoony imo. (the actual logo, not the one with the lion king :P)
Maybe it's just the font. That font looks kinda standard and bland.
“the real driver behind [the new look is] this kind of digital, broadcast-first approach – make it work as an app icon, and worry about everything else after.” meh

Why does it have to be a lion they are ugly and miserable

Indeed. I'll probably continue saying it though. It's just the way it is.
I always called it the EPL anyways. haha Sucks that money controls the names of stadiums, leagues, even crazy sponsor decor on kits, but that is what is needed to work the organization.
Lots to be said for traditional titles and honoring the history of the club or league.
I like the picture and a lion is a great symbol.
EPL . Never cared about being called BPL .
Personally I have always called it the EPL, so in that context I won't really be affected.
So long BPL...
Always called it the EPL anyways.
In doubt, I will call it CPL for Crazy Premier League or Chaotic Premier League, everyone will know of wich one I'm talking about, right?
The design sees the Premier League move away from title sponsorship, which is currently Barclays, and will be known as 'the Premier League' from the start of the next season, rather than the 'Barclays Premier League'.
