Predictions for 2013-14 standings and top scorers? (EPL. La Liga. Serie A. Bundesliga)
Dynastian98 11 years ago
Real Madrid 483 7140

RULES RULES RULES ::

La Liga: Do NOT put REAL MADRID/BARCELONA on your predictions for the standings. We already know that they're going to be the top two. I'm more interested in your opinions on top 3-7 for La Liga. If you don't know much about La Liga, top 3-5 is fine.

Same with top scorers. Do NOT put CR7/LEO. Put the next THREE top scorers.

EPL: Put the top SIX in the standings. This will create arguments, as no one knows how Chelsea, City, and United will do with their new managers. But nevertheless, you have EVERY RIGHT to believe your team will win the league (unless you're an Arsenal, Spurs, or Liverpool fan, which is unrealistic).

Top scorers: no limitations. Just put 3 players you think have the chance of being the top scorer.

BUNDESLIGA: Just put the top 4 or top 5.

Top scorers: no limitations. Just put 3 players you think have the chance of being the top scorer.

SERIE A: Put the top 5.

Top scorers: no limitations. Just put 3 players you think have the chance of being the top scorer.

Enjoy ~ :)

Because it's not the same in the EPL and it's his first year in England. He still needs time to cope with the EPL. and Arsenal is not a one-man team. so he might get more assists than goals. It's just my opinion tho :) we will see.

How can all of you guys put Arsenal at 5th ? I mean we were outstanding during the last 10 games of the season and we are being linked with really big names, higuain, fellaini, rooney, julio cesar.
And I don't see why Chelsea wining the league would be more realistic than Arsenal wining the league. We were 2 points apart last season.

1 Arsenal
2 Man utd
3 Man city
4 Chelsea
5 Spurs
6 Liverpool

I'm hoping the race for the title will be much closer than last year, with around 5 points between first and fourth.

Top scorers

1 RVP
2 Aguero
3 Benteke (if he leaves aston villa)
4 Bale

Just fyi Higuain is not yet in a EPL team

I don't know much about the other leagues so no pronostics

@Alex

Spanish forwards and AM's traditionally do very well in the EPL in their first few seasons. Michu explained why. He said that in the EPL, there is much more space up front to score than there is in La Liga. In La Liga, defenses pile their midfielders and defenders into the 18-yard-area in an attempt to shut out other offenses. This creates a very claustrophobic area for the strikers to be. For a striker such as Higuain to consistently score more than 15 goals a season in La Liga shows that he is very good in limited space.

So what will happen when he becomes the focus of the Arsenal attack? His goal-scoring exploits will be better. From being the second-focus in RM, Higuain had to deal with playing with Ronaldo. Since Ronaldo gets all the goals and was the focus of the RM attack, Higuain had to improve his passing skills. He is by no means a player who will be the subject of a "one-man" team. Giroud wasn't either, but did that stop him from scoring 17 goals in his first season in England? Nope.

I honestly don't expect you to know much about La Liga (since you self-proclaimed to know next to nothing about leagues outside of England), but I want you to know this information before you go around making statements like that. Cazorla, Michu, Torres, Mata.... they all did well in England. They joined a quality team, and were able to show-case their talents even more with the additional space and attacking-dimension of the EPL. Higuain will do just the same. Expect him to pass the 20 goal mark, and the 10 assist mark as well (assuming he doesn't get injured).

@KingHenry

While it may be true you guys did do pretty well in the last bits of the season, you guys had no other competitions to worry about. Arsenal only played a game a week, and got plenty of rest. Chelsea were busy with tough competition in the Europa League, which made them more tired and focus on other objectives as well. Same goes with Tottenham. Don't take your recent run to much importance. We'll see how well Arsenal can cope with playing in 3 or 4 competitions at once, and then we can make a solid statement on their abilities. You were more or less lucky that Spurs and Chelsea were occupied with other matters. Otherwise, that 4th place position wouldn't belong to the Gunners.

Valencia, Sweden 181 2500

Bundesliga:

  1. Shalke
  2. Bayern
  3. BVB
  4. Bayer
  5. Wolfsburg (if they keep Diego)

La Liga:

  1. Barcelona
  2. Real Madrid
  3. Valencia
  4. Atletic
  5. Atletico
  6. Sociedad (will go far in CL instead)

PL:

  1. Man €ity
  2. Man Utd
  3. Chelsea
  4. Arsenal
  5. Tottenham

Serie A:

  1. Napoli
  2. Juventus
  3. AC Milan
  4. Inter
  5. Lazio

CL semi quarter finalists:

Barca
Real
Chelsea
Real Sociedad
Atletico
Bayern
Bayer
Juventus

Winners: Barca

Its only realistic that there are things happening that isn't 100% predictable but still not impossible, Shalke have a great team and can beat Bayern by a few points like they did like Wolfsburg did in 2009 or like Montpeillier did with PSG in 2012 and Draxler is almost as good as Götse imo...

If you make a list with the most logical league placements 1 to 10 in PL ex. do you think everyone will be correct in the end? no... probability theory m8...

  3. Tottenham
  4. Manchester City
  5. Arsenal
  6. Liverpool

Bundesliga:

  1. Dortmund
  2. Bayern
  3. Leverkusen
  4. Schalke

La Liga:

  1. Atletico Madrid (given they keep Falcao)
  2. Valencia
  3. Malaga

Serie A:

  1. Juventus
  2. Milan
  3. Napoli
  4. Lazio
  5. Inter

And finally, if I may, Primeira Liga:

  1. Porto
  2. Benfica
  3. Braga
  4. Sporting
  5. Boavista

I'm not saying we will win the league 100%. I'm just really annoyed that people would think Arsenal is not a threat. If saying Arsenal will win the league is being dellusional, saying Chelsea will win the league is the same.
I'd like to remind everyone that this next season will be the first in a long time when we don't sell our best players (I know we aren't even in July yet but so far so good) and the players got to know how to play with each others. So no major upset in the starting 11. If we play the way we played during the last part of the season, 26 points out of 30, I don't see how we are not a threat, even if you add the other competitions. Now we know that Vermaelen is not as good as Kosc/Mert, Walcott has a contract, we have Monreal as back up for Gibbs, we hopefully buy a striker to start ahead of giroud, maybe a keeper that's not injury prone like fabianski and not error prone like szcz, and let's say Fellaini, that's a title contender line up.

I'm confident we will at least top 4 even if I'm hoping for more. And there is no way we will finish below spurs.

Muahahahahahaha! So, 5 people (who are typically very rational) think Arsenal will finish 5th? Two more 4th? SEEMS LEGIT!

@KingHenry: DON\'T BE ANNOYED! Everyone is entitled to their predictions; just as I am entitled to repost them at the end of next season and make them eat their words with a small serving of humble pie.

Not saying I expect us to be Champs... but 5th place? I\'m loving it!!!
5th place, indeed ;)
