Petition: Bale to take Real's free-kicks!

Real Madrid, Bosnia-Herzegovina 56 616

This guy is just unbelievably good in free-kicks. In fact, he is just as good as Ronaldo was in his prime. He can score from a dead-ball situation from anywhere. Already has two in Euro 2016, and the one against England was eerily similar to so many Ronaldo has scored earlier in his career.

I understand that Ronaldo is the king of our team, the biggest star, the most prolific player, and etc. However, he hasn't been doing well in free-kicks recently and that is because he's no longer 24.

How do we make one of those petitions that will get noise and attention by media??

We got to make our voice heard. Bale should be taking Real Madrid's free-kicks. I've been thinking about this for some time now, but after seeing Bale score 2 goals already in Euro from free-kicks, I have no doubt that it should be Bale. I saw him score free-kicks before but number of those could've been attributed to poor goal-keepers, and etc. Hart is no poor goalkeeper though, and he just scored on him from mid-way between the box and the halfway line. Just incredible technique.

All due respect to Ronaldo, but Bale is simply better at it at the moment.

I get what you're saying, and I think you're right, but using the Euros is kind of a bad example. Both of his goals here were keeper errors, the Slovakia goal moreso, but Hart did get a hand to the fk that should have saved it. It's not like he's putting them in the corners.

Just because they're not going into corners doesn't mean they're easily saved. They're just like Ronaldo's free-kicks used to be. Very strongly hit that any little wind gives them an unexpected curve. That's why they're so hard to save. Ronaldo scored many many of them just like it, it's not like he was putting them into corners either.

I actually don't know exactly how they're hit, whether it's the power or whatever else that gives them such an unexpected curve and dip. Not many players out there are capable of doing it, nothing like the traditional free-kicks of Ronaldinho or Zico.

Bale, Modric and even Ramos or Kroos all have better chances of scoring than CR. But until the day he leaves, he'll be taking them because that is how RM deals with stuff.

All suck at free kicks. I'm the best

It's what we saw day in day out at Tottenham. At Madrid there's this guy called Cristiano who doesn't let him take every single direct freekick.

Too bad that there is a player at real who wouldn't like that.

So much hate on Ronaldo, shouldn't the manager chose who take free kick (I actually don't know)? But yeah, I agree with Amerr, Bale is pretty good at them and should be given more chance to prove it at RM on real match occasion.

Ronaldo has to allow them to take FKs from now on. He has a higher chance of scoring from the rebound or from a header. Bale, Kroos, James, and Ramos are all amazing at FKs. They should have been taking them from a long time.

I hope Zidane is watching Euro 2016. I mean, I hope he's paying attention.

Because if he is, he will come to the same conclusion that we all have. Zidane is the one person in our team who I think has the status and respect that 'could' make positive changes such as delegating free-kick responsibilities from Ronaldo to Bale.

The fact is, as good as he is, and as perfect of a physical specimen that he may be - Ronaldo is simply past his prime. Zidane should realize that it's time for the team to start leaning on Bale more and more. I'm not saying throw Ronaldo to the periphery, but to start the process of building Bale up to lead.

bale and james are both better but since real want to please ronaldo he will always be taking them. if ricardo rodriguez goes to real then even he would be a better freekick taker than ronaldo.
left-footed players are better free kick takers i dont know why.

I agree. But I also agree that

as Ronaldo was in his prime

In his Man Utd years his freekicks were absolutely immense no doubt, but for the past 3 seasons he's been very very poor. I think there was actually 1 year when he scored few. The time when Courtois played for Atleti on loan.

2011-12 was the last season Ronaldo was excellent at FKs. Now he is just decent. He scores two or three every season, but Bale is capable of scoring five or six.

How about Ronaldo and Bale switching wings because Bale suceeds in that position and Ronaldo used to play at the right and his preferred foot is the right. Who else agrees. Also I think Bale should take the free kicks. Just to try something else.

They are both inverted wingers mate.

Eden is correct. The purpose of an inverted winger is not always to cross, but instead to cut inside and take a shot with their preferred leg.

Those 2 free kicks bale scored from in the euros would easily been saved in la liga...
That being said bale takes better free kicks at the moment , his power and accuracy is tremendous ..
Ronaldo last free kick against wales was pretty intense ..i think he have been practicing, so dont count him out yet .. u no he likes to prove his critics wrong
