@Rama
Probably, but if they are going to do that, they have the responsibility to say "excluding RM and FCB players". Which, in fact, as the governing body of Spanish football, they are not allowed to do. It feels unjust that the only player to make the team from the two Spanish giants is CR7.
Luka Modric, Di maria and Messi should have been selected respectively, if not all, Modric should be.
i gotta agree with the XI, its not baised..
Ive never liked this best XI in La Liga... No players from Barcelona is just ridiculous, they ended up 2nd! At least put Messi in there, the fact he didnt perform to his top form doesn't mean he played bad at all..
Navas and Courtois performed amazing this season, I think the selection goes in favour of top teams, specially the winning team.
Bullshit, I honestly think Sanchez preformed great this season, Iniesta was also still great! I think they are the only two players on FCB that did well even when their team faltered.
Coys beat me too it,
thats just fucked up. Yes as a team we were abysmal but we still had some fairly good individual performances even during the downfall.
I much as I am a Courtois fan, Navas did play really well. Modric impressed more than Itturaspe and Gabi.
Its not a disgrace, those Atleti players deserve it. Tata Martino rotation has something to do with this, Sanchez was incredible despite being benched several times, same with Pedro.
Costa season was better than Messi's one, since its a 4-4-2 we cant put Alexis, i would just add Busquets as a CDM...
Costa over Messi is really not a disgrace here, despite their performences, their behaviour were not the same : One is able to njure himself to score a goal and the other is busy renewing his contract and saving his pace and energy for World Cup.

@Eden Because you haven't bloody watched either of hem consistently.
@Dynastian Its not biased at all and it promoted those who deserved it, Messi is arguable but i wouldnt place him over either Costa or Cristiano. The fuss people make about Modric is ridiculous he has been very good but far from one of the best, if he would have performed identically at Spurs nobody would have said that. Angel Di Maria his position doesnt fit the formation and to be honest he wasnt close to being one of the best midfielders either. Sergio Ramos is not the best performing defender in La Liga this season, after both Godin and Laporte he is.
As for Keylor Navas i agree he has performed as good as Courtois but they chose Courtois instead because of him being a league winner and having more clean sheets.
It's a joke Messi is not in there. The guy was injured for 3 months and still managed to score 28 goals.. Madness.
@Dephased
Laporte over Ramos? LOL that's hilarious. Ramos has been key to keeping a multiple clean sheets during our domestic season, and has saved our ass plenty of times. His only fault was the nick on Neymar that got him sent off in the Clasico.
Modric has been undeniably one of the best midfielders in the world this season. Consistently performing and controlling all of Madrid's play. Better than any Barca or Atletico midfielder for sure.
And di Maria has seen an unbelievably rejuvenated season, and has proved himself to be one of the best players in the city of Madrid. His constant pressing, fantastic dribbling, and insane passes have been crucial to our season. *"*he wasnt close to being one of the best midfielders either"? Yea, I'm sure that's why he has the most assists in all of La Liga this season. Bam. Game, set, and match.
I agree with your Courtois point. Messi is indeed arguable, but like @Wolfie said, he's been out for around 2-3 months, and still managed to be La Liga's second-highest scorer. I think he deserves to be there ahead of Costa. Regardless of how good Costa's breakthrough season has been, he wasn't as good as Messi this season.
Unusually, here's the team.
Courtois
F. Luis, Godin, Laporte, Juanfran
Iturraspe, Koke, Gabi, Rakitic
Ronaldo, Costa
As you can see, only one RM player (and no Barca players) have made the cut. Seems unusually biased to me.
Lionel Messi - Fully deserved to be there ahead of Costa (or maybe alongside him in a 4-3-3). He was the second-highest scorer in La Liga, and that should be enough.
Luka Modric - One of the world's best midfielders this season. I feel he should be considered over Iturraspe.
Angel di Maria - Again, one of the world's top midfielders this season. Perhaps he might not make this particular team (Koke and Gabi have both performed very well this season), but di Maria has surely been at least on par with Gabi.
Sergio Ramos - La Liga's best performing defender this season. I'd pick him over Aymeric Laporte anyday. Laporte has had a good season, but none better than Ramos.
Keylor Navas - As good as Courtois has been this season, Navas has been better. Navas' stats on goals conceded may not be as impressive, but Levante is nothing compared to Atletico Madrid. In fact, I've seen rumors that AM intend to replace Courtois with Navas when Thibaut leaves for Chelsea.
