Idk how to feel about this cup anymore . From one side it is a good cup for youth players to flourish but then when big club comes along , clubs are forced to field their first 11 and sacrifice fitness of their main players for "micky mouse cup " .
@Marcus2011 I know, take United for exemple, the team that had against Manchester City seemed like a normal starting XI in the league. Look like Mourinho is gonna try to calm the spirit with other competition. :S
Mourinho needed a win . If he had another loose or draw things would go ugly . Look at Pep he hasn't won in 6 matches and still media letting him off the hook . Mourinho on the other hand can't catch a break even when he says something , it becomes headline .. It is no longer bias because apparently he was at Chelsea . It is truth because i see samething happening in United. Chelsea has been off the headlines and Conte as well but Jose is Jose no matter where he goes .
@Marcus2011 Well, he is more than a manager, he is the special one, when you got the kind of reputation he have, you kind of have to win. Its sad really, I have no respect for the way most club and fan act toward manager nowaday. :(
Yeah, it might be not an important cup, we dont deny that. But everyone needs a little boost from time to time, we need it now. We need it bad. And Mou wants his first trophy.
We will take it with both hands gents!!!!
I feel like representing MU's fans right now, which is wrong, but we need to reunite folks!!!

I won't lie, if we had won today I'd be celebrating. I'd take a free League Cup title any day but at the end of the tournament, all you get from lifting the trophy is a boost in morale, and another medal to add to your collection. A League Cup title doesn't even give you bragging rights over oppostion fans :P
I'm more saddened by our performance today than the eliminartion.
@tuan_jinn, well Mou did go full pingas for the Community Shield and that was his first trophy. But the fact that you missed that shows the importance of these trophies :)
You guys noticed it well ! Community shield and Carling Cup really not memorable cups . FA Cup is the power with very old traditions and respects that give you bragging rights over other clubs . If i brag to my fellow opposition fans I never throw how many carling Cup or community shields we have won ..
In Spain , Germany and Italy somehow it feels like their super cups have more weight . Not sure if because ours has charity factor in it
I hope it's Leeds-United in the semi final... I want to see a Leeds-United match in my lifetime.
@Eden17Hazard17 Ah yeah, I remember the community shield, how could I forget that beautifull assist by Fellaini. :P Also, from what I heard, Chelsea was pretty unlucky against West Ham.
@Saatvik Me too, that would be great, also, gotta root for the underdog as a neutral. :D
@Marcus2011 Well, Comunity Shield is a single match at the start of the season, its nearly more of a pre-season game with a trophy for whoever win it. League Cup on the other hand is a real tournament, so its a bit of a shame it isn't really considered like a worthy trophy. Its also a good chance occasion to see some of the big gun play in the later part of the competition.
It would be cool to see Leeds get their act together. I think we may be past that point now though.
Hopefully I'm not saying that about United one day.
Correct me if I'm wrong but in Spain, France and Italy don't they only have one domestic cup competition as well as their equivalents of the Community Shield. Why not scrap the League Cup, to increase the importance of the FA Cup, and give our teams better chances to succeed in Europe.
I think it's a great cup and a lot of experience for youngsters and players who are coming back from injuries, otherwise it means nothing.
The mickey mouse cup is great for youngsters.
A Leeds - Newcastle final is my preference in all honesty.
@louisvangaal lol :P
No team is required to field his best eleven, so to blame the domestic cups for English teams' performance in Europe is quite interesting. The problem rather is the approach of some English teams are just too thick to realise this.
Yep, no team has to feature their best to all competition, give B team a chance then. :( having said that, we didn't give our B team the chance either >.<
The mickey mouse cup is also great for smaller teams to play big teams. For some players, that'd be the highlight of their careers
"The mickey mouse cup is great for youngsters."...yet United played their full starting 11 lol
Liverpool v Leeds United
Manchester United v West Ham United
Hull City v Newcastle United
Arsenal v Southampton
