"Messi is Barcelona player " - I choose to agree very much with this statement .

It is true. The reasoning behind this is that CR7 is proven to not be a one club player having won the same awards with both clubs. Messi however, is not, and thus what Sir Alex says. I don't understand what the argument is? Sir Alex is just stating a fact.

Then i will ask a simple question, in wich team or wich League would Messi not be Messi ? Its Proven that its much more complicated to perform in Barça than elsewhere, ask Yaya Toure, Bojan, Alex Song, Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez, Luis Suarez, David Villa, Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimovic...
Scholes or Giggs or Totti or even Eusebio never changed club or league, it doesnt mean they arent able to compete elsewhere thats stupid point, that means they are loyal to their teams wich should be a quality and a credit given not the opposite.
When Ronaldo changed the club, it was for sportive reasons, he lost to Barça in CL final 2-0 and felt United was having an end of a cycle, so he changed club to be more under the spotlight, i will add that he arrived in a Madrid building time and has a big credit on making them where they are, he and the uncalculated signings after him...

Messi when Guardiola left and Barça was without a coach, Puyol aging and Barça being weak defensively and tactically vulnerable, he could have left and enjoyed success elsewhere, we are talking about the best player on this planet not a 3rd division one, he didnt and carried the team and Barça was able to win many trophies, not the biggest ones but many trophies were won and from 2012 to now, Messi is invloved in more than 50% of Barça goals while Barça is averaging 130 goals per season all competitions included, thats a lot...

Messi being Barça dependant is a retarded claim, because reality is that Barça were Messi dependant until the late reinforcements...

Messi can play in any team in the world and be their best player Bayern and Madrid included, so whats the point ? When Suarez play near Messi or Aguero or Neymar or Henry or Ibra, with all the quality those players have they look like noobs playing near him because he is 1 or 2 level better than the cream of the world, thats the real fact.

So wich team ? wich league ? wich competition ? Wich position ?

Messi can make Spurs lift PL if he joins them, i think you underrate his strikeforce and the problems he causes to rivals, Mourinho and all coaches adapt their team style specially for Messi, thats enough to make a Huge impact stats aside...

Maradona won the Scudetto with Napoli, im sure with Messi leading Midlefield he can make an average team achieve big things, not in Spain because he should be with Valencia or Atletico to compete with Madrid, but in England, put him in Southampton or Everton and they would make them at list top 4 or title contenders...

I disagree with Sir Alex. I think they both will MUCH LESS SHINE without a proper team support.

And Sir Alex coached Ronaldo for god sake... he is the reason why Ronaldo is himself today, Ronaldo is like a son to him. Of course he would say that.

I think Messi would shine much more than Ronaldo, logically speaking: Messi can play like a true midfielder and provides all sort of assists, harrassing and attract all defenders... but still can score.

Ronaldo can drop deep too, but he would never be able to dribble without speed and space, playing the middle, or make killing pass from the mid. He always make his fast move and then pass..., sometimes uses speed to move through couple of players...

You keep talking about Messi is Barcelona player, yeah. He shined in Argentina too, if you watch Argentina. Ronaldo SOMETIMES play well for Portugal but barely, he's really horrible.

You guys talking like Ronaldo carries the whole Real or MU, THEY BOTH HAVE INCREDIBLE SQUAD, INCREDIBLY DEEP. Ronaldo scores a lot and alot of important goals.

To me, all of this are non-sense.

@tuan i agree with everything, however you forgot 2 things. TEAM CHEMISTRY AND INJURIES. Messi and Ronaldo need reliabe teammates, not world-class type, but a teammate that will trust you and understand you completely. A If I were to choose any midfield in the world to Play for my team I wont think twice, it'll be Modric or Lahm. These two are the players that will choose team first. These just cant be hated by any team.

For Ronaldo, he will be quite difficult to bond, but when you give him a good pass, he will automatically repay you. So its give and retrieve. For Messi, just give him space and you will see yourself scoring hattricks with his vision. Messi can easily be trusted more than ronaldo.

Injuries, well lets say if Messi played against a team arent really cautious home and away, I doubt that he will leave in one peace. Messi is starting to be an injury prone which is huge blow for any team that wants him, plus he is starting to lose stamina for playing different roles more. Ronaldo is always ready, he may be rough here and thered but dont you worry for injuries, cause he rarely gets any, and he still has great stamina, For god sake look at how many 90 minutes matches he has played.

So what I am trying to say is, not a single player is complete 100% (physicaly and mentally)

Mentally: he can play any role on the football pitch, from defending to attacking.

Physically: he has excellent stamina and has the ability to use every ounce of his body in the pitch

Messi is the most tackled player in the league.

I understand now some stupid points mentionned here, you think Liga isnt rough enough ? Bilbao and Atletico are considered top 10 roughest teams in Europe, many others gives him special treatment...
Stoke players arent the only injury specialists... If its the only reason people could find for him to underachieve, fine.

man, thats the problem. You see we all know Messi's capabilities, but why are you underrating Ronaldo that much. This whole debate is about wheather Ronaldo or messi could prove if they had a weaker team or such. So lets see, and the future will tell.

@john I proved alot to speak up, and you misunderstood big time. What I'm trying to tell you is that to try not using these statements, just call by my name, why create heat in the forum. like i said, there are others (plural) who thinks CR7 is the best, and others (plural) who think LM10 is the best.

Well that was fun, sort of :P, but this is whats great about football,l you can bring points to prove why heskey is better than ronaldo and messi, and yet still be proven.
