"Messi is Barcelona player " - I choose to agree very much with this statement .

Ive always had the idea that if Ronaldo was the one playing all these years for Barcelona and Messi for Madrid, then Ronaldo would have been praised as the best in history and obviously above Messi.

But saying Messi couldn't do as well in any other team is a little risky, We dont really know how he would do in another team but he has played really well in Argentina and he is the one that other players depend on in Barcelona so.. I dont know why Sir Alex said that.

When Messi plays for Argentina you can see he doesnt play as good as he is with Barca. Which means if he leaves Barcelona he wont be good as he was before

I think those kinds of statements are pointless due to the fact we will never see messi playing in a different club. All i can say is Messi has played in different styles from Rijkaard, Pep, Vilanova, Roura, Martino and now Enrique and he has done well in all of them. Messi needs to feel good to performe and he has been developing a good chemestry with Neymar and Suarez.

Actually, SAF said CR7 can play with any team. He ment physically strong tall guys. Does it make Messi less significant, I don't think so. I think he as a coach want result first then beauty but I personaly watch Messi because of the beauty of his football. When Messi is calm and has been given space, he can terrorize any defense. Ronaldo can play in any team, thanks to his physical abilities, but i doubt the ronaldo now would make any difference.

In football, team sport is important, but individual skills are important just as much. Barcelona wouldnt have make an impact against City if it wasnt for Messi's individual brilliance, nor madrid would even go through thanks to Ronaldo's aerial threat.

Ronaldo and Messi can play anywhere, they just need to feel accepted and trusted by the team to unleash their brilliance.

If Carlo wants ronaldo to dribble, he will. If he wants him to be a defender, he will and score hattricks while being a defender. Messi in 2013-2014 was average why? No not because of injuries, that was just an excuse. Its because of the parking the bus. Messi is an amazing dribbler, but he as well cant go past more than 6 men, 11 players on the defense is possibly difficult to penetrate with only one solo striker. Than came neymar, who wasnt really at the best in the first couple of months since he had to adapt to a completely different style of play, so you will notice he is usually marked with 1-2 players on that year, which wasnt a big difference for messi being marked with the 5 players. In came the main man Suarez, similar to neymar he didnt do well in the first 2 months, but in the third month, he came back to his predatory skills alongside an in-form neymar, Messi had only 2-3 defenders, which for messi is nothing.

Messi and Ronaldo are both great players, however with both of their own technique, none above the other. You cant judge simply from a single season performance, but his entire career if you would like to say this better than that.
