United want Falcao! Fergie lines up £47m swoop for Atletico star... with Hernandez heading to Spain in swap

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has joined the hunt for Atletico Madrid's £47million-rated striker Radamel Falcao.

Manchester City and Chelsea have both been strongly linked with Falcao,
who has established himself as one of the world's most prolific
marksmen by scoring 54 goals for Atletico since arriving in Spain from
Porto in 2011.

But it is understood United have
now joined the bidding for the 27-year-old Colombia star and are prepared to
let striker Javier Hernandez move to Madrid as part of the deal.

The Premier League leaders are ready
to meet the £47m buyout clause in Falcao's contract by offering Atletico
£27m cash plus Hernandez, who they value at £20m.

Although reports in Spain yesterday suggested that a downpayment has
already been made, it is believed that United's interest is still in its
early stages.

If they were to land Falcao it
would be a bitter blow to Chelsea, who thought they were winning the
race to sign him, and City boss Roberto Mancini who believes Robin van
Persie's decision to choose Old Trafford over the Etihad Stadium last
summer has been a key factor in this season's title battle.

However,
any club wanting to sign Falcao will have to resolve an issue of
third-party ownership due to the fact that a company run by former
United and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon and agent Jorge Mendes
has owned a stake in the player since helping to finance his £34m move
from Porto.

That would be amazing if it happens, but I love Chicharito (I would rather swap Welbeck)

Welbeck has a promising future, and Chicharito shows up in the big games. I would never sell either Rooney or RVP anytime soon, so I'll be frank. You guys are the LAST team that needs Falcao.

I think I should apply for the a job at the Daily Mail.

I dream up random nonsense all the time! I'll only require a salary of £40,000

after a long think i think lewandowski would be a better choice as Falcao has scored 22 goals and 1 assists in 27 games and Lewandowski has 21 goals and 5 assists in 25 games and also Falcao is 27 and Lewandoski is 24 still pretty young.

@20RVP

Get your facts straight. Falcao has scored 28 in 33, and Lewa 29 in 40. Falcao's strike percentage is MUCH better. And you should also take into consideration that Dortmund are a better team than Atletico, so Lewa gets more quality passes than Falcao at the moment.

It's pretty odd, Hernandez and Welbeck are young and talented, Rooney still gets goals.

Do you people really need more forwards? You can't even fit BvB-top Kagawa in regularly. Jesus.

Read an article saying that Ferguson just dropped out of the race for falcao, the star is probably leaving to Man City Or Chelsea.

Like I said many times before Manchester United Gets linked with everyone. Doesn't mean we actually want them. It's just newspaper and gossip sites trying to sell an article.
