I saw it before. It's the ugliest thing ever. What a dumb idea, changing the badge. You want to lose the brand recognition you've built up until now? Change the badge. Excellent idea.

The old badge had no ties to the team itself. Also I read that the new crest was something the City fans wanted and they had the chance to express what they would want in it. Im guessing City fans are quite happy about it.

Its different but I think its an okay crest, they went back similar to the original crests.

I obviously wasn't around for when they had the other look, but I agree with Amerr, if City wants to be known as more than a plastic/money/oil/mercenary club, brand recognition and resonating is important.

I get that they are trying to get back to their pre-oil money roots, and while that's commendable, it does hurt the awareness level that the club has.
