Dutch international midfielder Kevin Strootman looks set to become David Moyes' first signing since becoming Manchester United manager. The PSV Eindhoven midfielder will complete a 9 million Euro move to Old Trafford.Strootman is being brought to the club as a possible replacement for Paul Scholeswho retired last season, whilst Darren Fletcher continues to suffer with a serious stomach condition and is unlikely to be a regular first team player until mid-season.

The 23-year-old former Sparta Rotterdam and Utrecht player has featured regularly for the Dutch side last season, scoring 6 goals in 25 games.

Strootman is able to play as a central midfield playmaker or as a defensive midfielder.

Smart signing. But I would've preferred they bought Wanyama. They need a physical presence as much as they need a replacement for Carrick as he gets older. Perhaps Moyes would be interesting in buying both Strootman AND Wanyama?

Oh my goodness. I've been waiting for Strootman to come to United for the past months.
He's the perfect fit for United. If Carrick and Strootman played together, that would be perfection.

It's about bloody time we hear some news about Strootman. He's definitely someone we need to pair up with Carrick, not Fellaini.
