Quikzy

Still owned by family. It ain’t his fault that he is royal family member that happens to rule UAE. In the end, what matters is that owner of the club is not a country. Call it on paper or not. That country btw is size of london.

Anyways..

PSG and City brought change. Otherwise it would still have been Chelsea or Manchester United as winners every year. They have raised the competition level to the point of where Liverpool had to go extra above their limits to keep up and this season they are still keeping their performance strong while City dropped. So as you see money don’t always give you stable continuous theophylline season , but it puts one on the map.

Why can’t other clubs be bought and follow same model? This uefa system scares off owners from bailing out some clubs or helping them to get into big club circle or just to even get back like with Ac Milan.

@tuan and quikzy

See it is hard to come up with a fair rules to control clubs from breaching current system. That is why I say throw away that system. And let the markets and their performance decide. If they want to regulate something then regulate transfers better and clubs illegal ways of approaching young talents by luring them with every tricky way.

Like Adam Smith said let the markets do their work. Invisible hand will take care of the ones that must go and elevate the ones that must stay. That is how Leeds United left EPL and still haven’t returned. They paid heavy price. So be it!

And let the markets and their performance decide.

@All

If governments intervene in free markets, it can inflate demand and supply. Look at the record transfer price in the past 5 years.

Put it this way
1) Club owners = limited supply of money 💰 (in $Billions)
2) Country owners = Potentially Unlimited. Someone know the GDP of Qatar and UAE 🇦🇪 in Trillion dollars 💵 ?

Its exciting for rich owners to be able to invest in small teams and make them competitive with the big clubs. I dont understand the hate on teams like city and PSG. I want more teams to become like them.

@footy_watch thats exactly what kills football. you get plastic fans with no real passion for a club, flitting around clubs with no real interest, people who go for different clubs, also go for different sports. Football is so successful because of the passion that trickles down all the way to amateur levels, in the end the more people that play football, the more talent there can be in the game and the more exciting the game becomes.

There needs to be a balance between creating an exciting platform for growth and limiting fan disinterest whilst also respecting history which ties fans to the game.
