Lewandowski in Bayern

As everyone expected. The twenty-five year old Polish striker Lewandowski, after a bunch of transfer rumors joins Bayer Munich. I think it's a stupid decision by the Pole because he joined his clubs rival team. What do you think ?

Comparing Bayern and Dortmund's relationship to United's and Arsenal is farcical. United do not have a monopoly on the EPL.

This is what Bayern does. They buy their rival's best player(s) so that no one can compete with them.

come on guys. "just for the cash". if Götze and Lewandowski were only after the money then they would've joined Real, Chelsea, PSG, City, whatever. they definitely don't earn as much at Bayern. The only reason I see is that they want to join the best team in the world and be coached by Guardiola.

This is the difference between BVB and FCB: Dortmund is happy with a second place in the league, for Bayern a second place is a disaster, that's just how this club works.

mia san mia. haters gonna hate

btw I'd rather have Gomez back ;( don't like Lewandowski at all

I hate players who leave for fierce rivals. i know how BVB fans fell cause of van persie, nasri saga. I cant imagine how much heart these guys have to leave in this state. Hope Reus does not become the next traitor Dortmund is a fantastic club they will surely find a underrated replacement for Lewan and turn world class just like Mkhitaryan replacing Gotze. Trophies is not everything in football its about passion and love for the club which made you.

I’m sure I could win things at another team in another country, but would it feel like our trophy, my trophy? I’m not sure it would. Anything we win here will come from the heart and that’s what I want. It’s my dream and I see no point in speaking about other teams when I have these dreams. I think other people know that about me; I’m just hungry to win with Arsenal and that’s it – Robin van Persie

maybe Lewandowski got that little boy insinde him screaming for "Bayern" like RVP

Spiegel: Real Madrid offered Robert Lewandowski a €10m up front, a 6-year contract worth €9.5m per year, and a €14m to his agency. The deal would round up at €81million for Lewandowski but the player rejected picking a summer move to Bayern Munich instead.

Judging by this, I think SternDesSuedens is right about Lewa not joining for the money. But I don't know what his wage will be anyway. I think he just joined them because they are the best in the world with the best coach in the world (in my opinion).

I never said he is going for money, but at least make his old team win some money to recruit other players.
Going for free with his actual level is a disrespect for me.
Bale went for 100M at least Spurs had money to rebuild, BVB does not have the same luck.

^^ He told BVB last year only that he would not extend his contract and would leave for Bayern. They could have sold him that year if they wanted, but they didnt want to lose both Gotze and him to the same team in the same year so they kept him in the hope of either persuading him to stay or go to a different team. he just stuck to his earlier arrangement.

Lewandowski simply decided himself that he wanted to play for a properly run team with a chance of winning trophies . That's what footballers want. BVB cannot be compared to Bayern in terms of management, infrastructure or long term planning. Of course great players..Goetze, Lewandowski etc. want to play for the best possible team. BVB have a long way to go before they reach a level that will entice players to stay. Bayerns ability to attract the best comes from years of top management by ex players and an internal infrastructure so good that top players will always queue up to play there. BVB on the other hand have a history of mismanagement although the possibilities for both clubs were similar, with BVB having just as many fans weekly, paying more or less the same ticket prices. Bayern has also managed to be ueber successful and still maintain the infrastructure of a real club reinvesting in players and supporters while BVB went on the stock exchange creating a completely new set of dynamics. For as long as BVB continue with a poor buying policy (one only needs to look at the poor decisions made last year in buying Mhikitarian and Aubamayang two very average additions to a team that needed solid defensive players) and continue to play a game which consists of the whole team running forward after the ball they will struggle to hang on to players. That is the lot of a team without a tactical and financial plan. Lewandowski will do very well at Bayern. A stupid decision to join one of the top teams in the world, play with the best players, and win trophies? I think not.

Poor buying policy for BVB? I dont even know what to say about that other than that I disagree completely and cant see how someone can say that about one of the most clever teams in the transfer market. Buying underrated and turning them into top class is genius, in the other hand buying 50million+ players because of no real need is what I consider poor buying policy.

That style of play you claim to be deficient is the same they used to reach the UCL final, as deficient as you might think it is. And I dont see how that would affect the capability to hang on to player.

I dont blame players for wanting to play for better teams but Lewnadoski and Goetze reached the UCL final and won a couple of Bundesliga trophies, what I mean by this is that they were already on a great team which a couple of years ago dominated Germany.

It isnt a stupid decision by Lewan, that was never the point of the discussion. But it was an inmoral decision for him, ditching BVB like that for a rival team is not something to be proud of.
