Lewandowski: I'm signing for Bayern in January

The Bavarians have remained the favourites to sign the Pole, however, and following the Schwarzgelben's 2-0 DFB-Pokal second-round win over 1860 Munich, Lewandowski confirmed that the Allianz Arena will be his destination and that he will sign a pre-contract in January to join next summer.

When asked if he would confirm his move to Pep Guardiola's men in January by Sport1, he responded: "Yes, because then I can officially sign the contract."

First of all Goal.com are full of S#@T... Second ... everyone knows that Lewandowski wants to join Munich, but my question is WHY Munich need Lewandowski to replace who ? Mandzukic ? no way! don't really understand why Munich need Lewa...

I think this specific article is reliable enough, as it they did get his quote from a German TV show where Lewa was most likely interviewed. Plus, we all know Lewa is going to Bayern. It's been known for over a year now. Smart move for Munich. They sign Lewa and they will have the most complete and the most dangerous team in the world, along with one of the greatest managers ever guiding them. Bayern are really going to be scary to face in a year.

They dont need him in order to replace someone.
Bayern Munich are used to be the stars of Bundesliga for years!Since the beginning of the league.
They dominate all domestic divisions for years.For some reason they cant stand another team \"taking\" their place.
So they try to weaken their strongest opponent who threats them.The older years have been Gladbach and Hamburg.
They got Gotze from BVB.Ok,Well done.!They could easily wait for the end of the season to announce him.
What they did?The announced him 1 day before Dortmund's game against Real Madrid.Probably In order to cause problems inside the team,with the fans etc.
Now they want Lewandowski!While they dont even need him. If they wanted another top quality forward they would have easily kept Gomez.

Anyway,that is my point of view.
I may be too muxh affected from science fiction films but i cant give another explanation to that.

It's ridiculous... we don't need him anymore and that transfer will only cause problems. We'd have Götze, Mandzukic and Lewandowski (+ Pizarro) to play as a striker then and none of them will accept warming the bench for a long time. I think we should rather focus on our youth team (Green, Weihrauch, Weiser)

^How can you say such a thing? Don't you realize Lewandowski, one of the top 5 best strikers in the world atm, wants to join your team of all teams for free. And you think its ridiculous?! Maybe this is only my way of thinking but so what if Pizzaro and Mandzukic don't play anymore? Do you want to remain with those two same strikers over Lewandowski? This isn't a way to remove your current striker, this is a way to upgrade your team to becoming unstoppable.

Lewa is better than the strikers Munich already have so.

I think Bayern only demonstrating their force. Making Dortmund (their only rival ) weaker is what they want.

he sure is one of the best strikers right now, I didn't deny that. but
bringing in Lewandowski could really ruin the team's harmony. I don't
know if you've followed his story with Dortmund so far, but to me it
seems that he and especially his agents tend to cause lots of trouble if
they don't get their way...

I also think Guardiola wants to play a false 9 up front, which is why we bought Götze in the first place, so I don't see why we would need another classic striker.

... but maybe it's just because I personally don't like him that much. :P

They need Lewa so BVB don't win the Bundesliga. Oh, and because he's 10x better than any striker they currently have.

@Stem

Lewa is one of the most coveted strikers in Europe. Mandzukic is overrated because he plays for Bayern. He would not start in many of Europe's top teams..

@KSIO

Yeah but those players still need developing and wouldn't replace him any time soon..

I'm over exaggerating when I say 10x.. I just mean to say he's a significantly better than Mandzukic.

^ Yes, and so is Mario Gomez. But you are strictly looking at goal scoring records.

The reason Heynckes played Mandzukic over Gomez was because of Mandzukic's sheer work rate. He would pressurize the defense, and run up and down the pitch and involve himself everywhere. Gomez and Lewa are more likely to just sit and wait for the ball to come, and neatly put it in the back of the net. Mandzukic is the better alternative with Bayern's playing style.

I can safely assure you that Bayern wouldn't have won the treble if Mandzukic didn't play as many games.
