Based on this years league performance .

I would make a change in goalkeeper place . Fraser Foster kept 13 clean sheets that is 3 more than De Gea . This one is up for debate .

I would want to Put John Terry , but seems like stats are saying Pique is having a great season .

But then again based on stats we can put Fraser before De Gea or Courtois or Joe hart .

I would also place Matic but i don't know who to take out they are all brilliant selections .

Whats your take on this ?

I am choosing players based on their overall performance of the season, current form and impact on their team or in the league .

Ofcourse it is no brainer to leave Modric out , but did he had a great season ? He was injured since November and now he has like 4 matches since recovery ( not sure ) . He is not having flashy comeback like James Rodrigues is having one right now . In el Classico Modric was overwhelmed by Barcas midfield. Obviously long absence from football and being rushed back into big game did not do him any good.

Gaya had much better season than Marcelo , his stats , impact on the team and his consistency from day one is worthy of selection .

If you're choosing players based of performance of the season and current form, then I would leave Modric and Ronaldo too.

You mean Ronaldo best player in the world , who has 37 goals , 12 assists and 57 chances created for Madrid this season one ?

I might be controversial about Modric , but leaving out Ronaldo is ludicrous !

Well i didnt care much about overall performence, if its so then Suarez should be dropped for Benz, Aguero or Neymar because they did better first leg since he needed time to get fit and adapt to the new league.
Then I would bring Kroos back in Mascerano place since he was used more often and had an amazing consistence in performences, Javier and some Barça players are paying their Rotation ( Alba is having the season of his life ) and Piqué deserves absolutely to be there, he was amazing this year, decisive tackles, imperial in the air, scoring, good passing and ball control, a full season like he never had before since Puyol time.
Im not doubting Marcelo season was impressive, his defensive work rate seem underrated here, he isnt just a good attacking winger, he progressed drastically, i think he is the best in his position, very dificult to go pass him...

The Barazil-Germany game is a one game, that should not follow him all his life, the whole Seleçao boat sank, we could say the same about Azpi in Spain-Holland or Spurs game...
Marcelo and Alaba are the best wingers of the moment imo.

Do you sincerely expect Modric to have a "flashy return"? Well how about this as "flashy" for you. Since Modric has returned to our starting lineup, we have scored 14 goals in 4 games. With him injured in 2015, we have scored 19 goals in 11 games. The difference is immense. The moment Modric returned, Madrid's midfield returned to holding possession longer and creating space in the midfield much more often.

Expecting Modric to return "flashy" is like expecting Xavi to score a hat-trick on his return from injury. Who do you think he is that he's going to be a "flashy" player? Messi? Lmao.

Yes , and you also lost Classico when he returned . So maybe James is also another reason why Madrid scored 14 goals in 4 games out which 9 goals came when James played against Granada ?

Ivanovic could make it for Carvajal, and maybe Godin could sneak in at CB, (Yes Ramos makes mistakes at times, but when he's on top form, there's no other better CB.)

Modric isn't a "flashy" player, but our power horse, our unsung hero, who does amazing work in the midfield, brings balance to the team, helps attack, defend, does everything. He's the lungs and brain of the team. The core of a machine. He's easily our most influential player in terms of making the team work. I wouldn't change Luka for 200m, because there is no other player in the world that can offer what he has to offer.

@Dyn: thanks for the stats, I have always said this. Modric is the core engine of Real team, and Ronaldo finish it off. Without Modric, Ronaldo will look so normal that you guys would find it surprising... and when Ronaldo is off, the rest of the team is even below that

if Ronaldo was not playing since November 2014 and returned just recently , would Real still be contesting for title ? Being 4 points behind like now ? I am sure not . ( although I think it is title chances are very slim ) .

I think people who drop Hazard truly don't know that he was our best player this season and reason why we are top of the table .Ofcourse not him alone , there is Costa , Matic , Ivanovic and Fabregas and etc after all it is a team sport but from day one Hazard never took his foot off the pedal , showing incredibly consistency . He is for sure going to be player of the year and I I assume if he starts scoring goals then fans will start placing him .

I honestly don't think Zidane would have won Player of The year if he played in the era where you have to score or assist more to be considered the best . Exact reason why Modric last year was not even in on FIFA best XI but he contributed to CL and Copa Del Rey arguably more than anyone .

Mark my words Modric won't be on best FIFA 2015 XI team neither . Although this year it will be reasonable to leave him out .
