Thats quite a story! Good luck to them :)
I wish the best of you against Uzbekistan! We'll be looking forward to see you at Brazil!
Hope your team win against Uzbekistan although you will have to fight against the odds vs South America's 5th place which most likely will be Uruguay...
Good luck Jordan!
Congratulations. Jordan won it 9-8 ON PENALTIES!
Wow. Hopes of getting in to the World Cup is definitely still alive. Good luck.
Haha you Jordanians never can beat us Iraqi's.. Because we are always too strong for you guys. I remember when we won 1-3 in Jordan after we were 1-0 behind and you guys had an amazing coach Adnan Hamad he is also Iraqi but a traitor he left Iraq only for the money and now he got his ass kicked by his own country xD
First of all, congrat I-M..... i never critisized Iraq in this damn thread and was only celebrating my own national teams glory and i wasn't rubbing it in anyone's face.
I dont want to rain on your parade but that 1-3 loss was meaningless as we had already qualified.
but i will give props to your 1-0 win in Qatar over us, you guys earned that win and we couldn't measure up and choked under the pressure.
Like i said i respect Iraq's situation with there home stadium debacle but don't trash talk because you open the path way for trash talk back. thanks.
WE HAVE MADE IT TO THE FINAL KNOCKOUT ROUND
A hard fought brawl with Uzbekistan finally meets its end in the form of a penalty shootout.
I am ecstatic , i wish i didn't have school or else i would of watched it.. now a south american team awaits us.. *shivers*
damn. imagine Jordan in the WC, i thought Uzbekistan ws too hard for you at first....
Ecuador will probably be the opponent Jordan will face, not impossible
Iraqi_Madridsta, can you please stop making us look like asshole!!!
Congrats to Jordan they deserved to go through to the next round, however now they have to really step it up if they want to win against the south american team.
Thanks guys and i agree Jordan will have it tough against whoever they face but at this point i don't care.. we made it this far and i will always be proud of the National team win or not. Im kind of excited too, to see Jordanian players against international superstars.
Alas, 2 months have passed since that glorious day in Tashkent... and the dream ends Abruptly at the hands of one of the best teams currently on Earth. and clear cut favorites to win the entire world cup next year.
And regardless of what happens in Montevideo in half an hour, i am extremely proud of this team and my countrymen to make it this far, we had never done it before and this historic squad will be remembered for a very long time to come. If our luck wasn't so sour, we could of made it to Brazil but we had to face quite possibly one of the best Uruguay squads in Decades. Good luck to Uruguay and the other 31 teams at the WC, i hope they put on a great show. we will be back for 2018 Qualifying.
Nice atitude, your country gave everything and thats enough to be proud of them.
after a crazy group qualifying campaign and losing every single road game in the 4th round, we are somehow bound for the playoffs against uzbekistan on September 6th and 11th.
i did not even think of making it this far, neither did anyone else in Jordan.
it all started in Round 2, with a 2 legged knockout game vs Nepal, a game we excpected to win in Amman in the first leg.. but not by this much..
9-0 was the score of that match! and the second leg ended 1-1.
in round 3 we were grouped with Iraq, China and Singapore.
we won the first game in Iraq to everybody's surprise.
we won the next game vs China 2-1 in Amman. our first win over china in 27 years.
we then visited singapore and cruised to victory.
Singapore came back to Amman for a not to different game.
That win over singapore in Amman assured us a spot in round 4.. our next 2 games were meaningless to us. even though it was dissapointing to lose 1-3 to Iraq and 3-1 to China respectively, we qualified regardless.
Round 4 was a whole new world for us as we have never made it there in our History.. and paired up with the likes of Australia, Japan ,Iraq again and the money soaked Oman.. we could excpect it tough. and thats exactly what we got.
Our first game at home to Iraq ended dissapointingly for both sides.
Our next game vs Japan was the most embarrassing defeat in our History..
we totally turned the momentum on its head and suddenly the world believed in us again.. after this. vs Australia.
totally overconfident from our win over Australia, we underestimated how good Oman is and paid the price.
our next game against Iraq at the neutral venue due to iraq's safety concerns.. ended heartbreakingly for us.. with a last gasp winner for the Iraqi's.
but despite the difficulties on the road.. we continued our home sparkle and broke our long duck with Japan and finally turning the tables on an ongoing Football rivalry.
that win over Japan put us in the Automatic places with 2 games remaining.. and needing a result at Australia.. we tried to break our road curse.
After being whipped in Melbourne, and Oman beating Iraq before that.. our Automatic hopes were basically gone.
A few days later, Australia beat Iraq 1-0 to take the last Automatic spot.. to leave us and Oman to fight for the last playoff spot in 3rd.. all Oman needed was a draw, and we absolutely had to win.
now my boys are playoff bound, and even if we dont win those playoffs.. i will always be proud of Jordan for this achievement and giving the Jordanian people something to hope and smile about, and bringing joy to everyone, of course the adventure is not yet over, but regardless of the playoff results.. Jordan will have my eternal backing even if they never play like this again and i will always believe in them.
