@Lodatz
My bad, I missed the part where I mentioned class. :P
Nevertheless, Atletico beat Chelsea in London, Real thrashed Bayern in Bavaria, and we're on our way to the first ever derby final in the Champions League. :D
"oh, and just to continue the point about 'class', it's always kind of funny to watch someone like knibis, who gloats, lies and is utterly biased, always prove that it's the anti-PL people who always display a lack of class, not the PL fans he thinks he's better than. ;)"
If that's directed at me and Tiki_taka, then I really have nothing more to say. I know you got beef against Knibis, but I wouldn't expect you to call me and Tiki biased, liars, arrogant, and classless.

Yes, you are, and I hope you understand it's nothing personal against Real if I tell you that I'll be rooting for the other team from Madrid... O:)

I didn't. I'm simply saying that is what is annoying about the eternal league arguments. knibis is the extreme example, but that doesn't mean people don't stray into behaving like him from time to time. When I see someone I respect doing something knibis-like, I like to offer a gentle nudge about it, because I think they're better than that.
That's what raises the level of discourse, ultimately.

The only thing that could make lodatz admit it is a Real Madrid-Tottenham fixture, or Atleti or Barça. Im praying to get this fixture so i can hear your point after the game.
@tiki:
"Context is only when its suits you, there was no context in Bayern-Barça do you remember ?"
No, I don't. Please remind me, because I'm fairly sure that I never said anything nasty about Barcelona. Also, what is the context you would like to bring up? The fact that Messi wasn't fit?

Why?
See, now you're just being a dick.
Why do you always have to be a dick instead of discussing the football? This is precisely what I'm talking about, and precisely why I stopped considering you a friend.

@Lodatz
No worries. If I was a neutral fan, I'd be rooting for the underdogs as well. In fact, I was cheering for Chelsea back in 2012 against Bayern (also partially because Bayern beat us, LOL).
I cheered for Chelsea just for the sake of EPL. football wise, I would never do that. :D. Atletico is some team, Siemone is some boss. Gonna be an EPIC final.
I am trying to buy 2 tickets for the final and it's already freakin 1300 to 1900 for CAT2 or CAT4. what the actual fuk...
@Lodatz, the tie was won after the horrible defending that led to Atletico's first goal in the 44th minute. The penalty was the icing on the cake and a reward for Atletico's determination to score another goal early in the second half. They could have approached the second half with a park the bus mentality and shut Chelsea down defensively (and they probably could've done so given how good their defense is), but instead the went for that second goal, which I don't think Mourinho expected. Football won today. Anti-football lost.
@Dynast : The underdogs were Chelsea in this game, Atleti have better players in every place on the field...
@Lodatz : I will not answer this insult, so you dont disappear for 4 months again...
I only know pitch reality, both Madrid sides were superior by FAR to their rivals, When Atletico canceded the goal, did you look their atitude after ? Chelsea couldnt even react after their Plan A failed, we didnt saw the same game even Marcus is being quiet about this...
Ohh, i forgot you even not gave credit to Liverpool for trashing Spurs fair and square 0-5 or something, your habitual context/excuse was : We made them look better than they really are and only bashed mistakes and some calls...
Anyway, you should stop with your context stories, every team has their excuses but only results matter in football...

@TheGame: "the tie was won after the horrible defending that led to Atletico's first goal in the 44th minute. The penalty was the icing on the cake and a reward for Atletico's determination to score another goal early in the second half."
Well, no, because if not for that penalty, there was every chance Chelsea could nick the game from Atletico. The penalty changed the momentum of the entire tie.
"Football won today. Anti-football lost."
Bullshit, and that's what's getting frankly extremely annoying about this whole climate. There is nothing 'anti-football' about Chelsea's tactics. Ateltico just won the game (and deservedly so), which until that penalty was probably even edged by Chelsea in terms of how many shots and attacks had been made.
This entire 'anti-football' nonsense is just bullshit, and has been bullshit ever since 2005 when the accusation was made up because Frank Rijkaard didn't like losing to Mourinho, and the Spanish media didn't like their new darlings losing to (newly rich) English opposition.

I've been back for less than a week, and already I'm bored of you.
"both Madrid sides were superior by FAR to their rivals,"
No, what you mean is: they won. That's great. Were BVB FAR superior to Real last year? If so, then wtf happened to them? See, you simply cherry pick results that suit you, and never respond to the entirety of context, because you know I'm right. You're simply continuing to be an arrogant douche.
"your habitual context/excuse was : We made them look better than they really are and only bashed mistakes and some calls..."
And I was right, and am still right now. We really did just hand them a 2-0 lead, and then when we went down to 10 men, they pummeled us. It really wasn't that great a performance by Liverpool.
See, when you whine about my 'context', why don't you try and actually make a CASE that shows otherwise, hmmm? Oh, yeah, because you don't know **** about the matter, didn't watch the match, and have no idea what you're talking about.
Again.
This is boring.
"Anyway, you should stop with your context stories, every team has their excuses but only results matter in football..."*
Yyyeeeeeah, I'll buy that from you when you stop WHINING about how Barcelona got beaten fair and square in both 2010, and 2012 by superior opposition.
I won't hold my breath, mind you. ;)
"I will not answer this insult, so you dont disappear for 4 months again... "
Why don't you try not responding at ALL? That would be a nice change. Or did you think that someone can't simply scroll upward and spot where you started being insulting for no reason?
Again.
P.S. This is boring.

what the he-ll is wrong with this forum, everyone is fighting with each other... :D are you guys wanna start a relationship or something?
Did no one like the rhyme I did?
Let's be realistic, we don't stand a chance.
Not going to argue too much about the game . I thought equalizer was crucial because it restored confidence for Atletico going into second half with advantage .
We lost our confidence trying to chase the game in the beginning of second half . However, we slowly got back into game after few furious Atletico counter attacks in the beginning of second half . And It still looked even for either one to win .
Like I said before if Only Courtois did not make that save , we could have right the game out with with victory . However, he made the save and than conceded penalty which just killed us. It was game over .
@Lodatz, did you see any attacking impetus from Chelsea after they conceded the first goal? There was little to none. The tie was essentially done at that point, and Chelsea were caught in two mindsets, whether to playing an attacking game or counter-attack. They did neither. They certainly did not go all on the offensive, knowing how vulnerable they would become. Instead they just sat back absorbing pressure from Atletico early in the second half hoping to capitalize on a mistake or nick it in the end, until they conceded again. At 0-0 and at 1-0, it was Chelsea's game to lose given that they were at home and they were playing relatively well in the first half. You're right, it did take the penalty for me to initially realize that the game was over. But looking back at it, I concluded that at 1-1 Chelsea were out of viable options and the game was done and dusted at that point.
I admit that I use the term "anti-football" rather loosely. But remember when Mourinho criticized West Ham for playing a style that resembles "football from the 19th century", when in fact he deployed a similar style against Liverpool? This proves one thing: there is an attractive way to play and an unattractive way, and Mourinho himself knows this. And football fans generally understand this as well. Now, you can take the simplistic approach and say "well results are all that matters" but really you would be lying to yourself. There is a certain romanticism that comes with the game of football that you just don't see in a "park the bus" style. When a smaller team does this against a bigger, better opponent you can't help but feel happy for them due to the typical underdog story, but when a big team with immense attacking ability such as Chelsea does this against good opponents, you get the sense that they're playing in a cowardly fashion. Pele did not dub football as "the beautiful game" when he watched 8 men defending for 90 minutes.
@Dyn said this couple of days ago and now @TheGame said it again (well said), I said it myself too. So I think the debate is pretty clear... we acknowledge why Mou did it, but we cant like it.
...over at Cryptocat! Hah, rhyming!
