John Terry's Future

After over 700 matches for Chelsea, his red card against Sunderland will see him miss our final two games and he could well have played his last game for us.

I think he has a lot more left in him, and without Drogba, Cech and Lampard, we lack true leaders in our squad.

I've heard that he hasn't been offered an extension as he publicly backed Mourinho after he was sacked, and the board didn't approve with that. He clearly wants to stay but with the season nearly over time is running out.

The lack of openness on the issue has led to a lot of distrust and anger and there have been rumours that Terry is paying for his own leaving party at Stamford Bridge, renting out the pitch for £22,000.

The club has avoided this issue for so long but a decision has to be made immediately, with Roman, Conte, and Emenalo :( having a big say.

Will he stay or will he go?

I would be shocked if he stayed. He won't end up in MLS either. That leaves a worse British team where he can go be terrible for a year (like Rio at QPR) or do a Xavi and disappear to the Middle East or China.

The captain goes down with the ship.

I kinda hope he could stay at Chelsea in a more of a support role, one thing for sure, he will have to agree to less money in any case. If he refuse, he will no doubt end up in China or the Middle East like sun said. I hope that doesn't happen though. No matter how I feel about this man, he is still a legend of the club and was one of the great English defender.

He should retire, but its disappointing to see a legend have to bow out in this manner. It's almost similar to the disrespect shown to Casillas when he left us. Terry deserves a lot better from the club for what he has done. He publicly backed Mourinho because Mourinho was the one who gave Terry his first taste of global dominance. He shouldn't be estranged for that.

Renew his contract (but with a reduced role and lower wages)! Conte should push for this, this would immediately increase his popularity among the fans and I'm sure Terry could help him massively with acclimatisation at Chelsea

" Terry is paying for his own leaving party at Stamford Bridge, renting out the pitch for £22,000."

Is this for real? For all Terry did for club? This is, so so wrong.. I think Terry did all what he can in his career for Chelsea and yet, if this is how the story ends it's just sad.. I seriously hope the board wakes up and make something about this, cause it's just not fair..

@Quikzyyy Just a rumour lad, there is no proof of such thing. I don't think the club would do that, Terry given his whole career playing for Chelsea, he is a role model for the other player and sending him off without the due respect would be making themselve a great diservice. Some player would want to finish his career there after that and it might cause some player to grow uneasy. I really don't think that would be a good move.

Not quite official yet, but it looks like he's off to China....

This is so sad. He's still one of the best in Europe, and he offers so much more than playtime. His leadership, sportsmanship, and influence on younger players like Zouma and Christensen will most definitely be needed. What more do you want Chelsea?

This may well have been his last moment on the pitch for us. You can see how much it means to him.

@Tuanis Ok then, let say he go to the MLS, wich team would he join?

With MLS you never know... He could be joining LAFC just like Kaka did when Orlando CIty was introduced or like was the case with NYCFC. An expansion team would be my guess but it is hard to know. Montreal did it with Nesta when he was about to retire so it is nothing new to the league.

Americans hate Terry. I've been over this before, both he and Lampard get no love. NYCFC signed Lampard because of some bs with Manchester City, and he gets booed everytime he touches the ball. That and the fact he's been terrible make it 99.9% likely no MLS team will take Terry.

Well this is our c8nt board doing what they do best ! Throwing our legends and managers like a used condom . I maybe using harsh words but how else can we describe their despicable decision . Clearly captain wants to stay , so f*cking let him stay ! We spend stupid money on idiot buys like keeping Falcow on the bench for entire season but can't afford our legendary captain ? F8cking c8nts !

@Marcus2011 Well said lad, really happy to see this kind of thing happen, now however, I'm worried about Terry decision wether to stay of to leave.

listened to the fans? Not as I understand it.. Now the board can blame it on terry if he rather leaves for a much much higher wage (China, eh?) than stay in chelsea in this new role where he more than likely would receive much less money.. it's a huge price to pay for being loyal

@KTB Yeah, thats also what I was scared about. Its sure thats Terry will not be paid as much as he was before or else, there no doubt in my mind that he would accept the deal in a flash. No doubt the deal wasn't very good for him and he need some time to discuss with his family what would be best for them. I really hope for Chelsea's fan that Terry chose to remain there however even if its mean he will have to sacrifice a bit of his wage.
