If I would have been Terry I would have left for MLS or the Chinese league for a year or two and then return.. That is loyalty in today's football.. even though of course I would love him to stay forever in my beloved team!

Yeah, this whole contract saga seems edgy to me, too. I don't like that it was made public by Chelsea, and by Terry in the first place, because it seems as if they are fighting in the limelight. Chelsea have probably offered him a contract with reduced wages and a reduced role, which is exactly what I would've wanted under normal circumstances, but Chelsea have apparently waited until the last minute to offer him a contract on unacceptable terms with the intention of making look Terry like the bad guy if he declines the offer. This whole issue could've been handled much better.
Here's an interesting article and an alternative view on it all: http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/terry-pulls-a-fast-one-much-to-abramovichs-amusement-34717614.html?
Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce John Terry has signed a new one-year contract.
@Quikzyyy Well, well, thats a suprise, I wasn't expecting such a results to the whole story, not that I'm annoyed by it. I'm pretty happy for all Chelsea fan. I just hope the board didn't reduce Terry wage too much. Also, it seem he is still gonna be treated as a player which is interesting news. No doubt he will have less playing time though. Hopefully, his presence will be helpful for the club to go much farther next season.
I hope he reitres at chelsea, not at china or mls.
Captain! Leader! Legend! Thank you board!
After over 700 matches for Chelsea, his red card against Sunderland will see him miss our final two games and he could well have played his last game for us.
I think he has a lot more left in him, and without Drogba, Cech and Lampard, we lack true leaders in our squad.
I've heard that he hasn't been offered an extension as he publicly backed Mourinho after he was sacked, and the board didn't approve with that. He clearly wants to stay but with the season nearly over time is running out.
The lack of openness on the issue has led to a lot of distrust and anger and there have been rumours that Terry is paying for his own leaving party at Stamford Bridge, renting out the pitch for £22,000.
The club has avoided this issue for so long but a decision has to be made immediately, with Roman, Conte, and Emenalo :( having a big say.
Will he stay or will he go?
