Yep. Ronaldo should be on there too. He scored 10 goals in 6 matches in January. More than any other player in the same month.

Strange list indeed, though i'm glad Wilshere made it up there.

Interesting that Mata didn't make it but Carrick did. Don't get me wrong, Carrcik is great for Manchester United and has been for long time, but this year is obviously Mata's year. Already over 20 assists in 30 or less games and nearly 10 goals.

No way, Carrick definitely deserves a spot more than Mata. He played every game, except 1, and has shown to be a consistent midfielder.

Let's not forget that the list is just of January's best players, not the whole season. Still can't square most  of the choices, though. As Dynastian said, the fact that Ronaldo's not on it, despite scoring two hat-tricks is pretty absurd.

should Varane be on this? i mean he played 1 match... but again he did play really good, and that too against Barcelona

@WayneRooney

Only one match? He played five out of Real's six matches in January. And he performed better in those five matches than Pepe has this entire season. I think that Varane more than deserves a spot on January's best World XI. But just an honorable mention, I think that Frank Lampard could have made this list too.

Hart is really overrated. He's good, but people hype him up too much. (Mainly the English)

There are far better keepers in the PL. Begovic, Mignolet, Vorm, De Gea, Lloris.

But Julio Caesar should be on that list instead of him. I'm sure everyone with a right mind will agree with me on this.
