Wilshere is way better.
Verratti anyday. Wilshere is just hyped because he is English. Remember how hyped he was compared to Koke? Oh what happened here? Looks like Koke has become one of the best midfielders in the world now (or on his way there), and Wilshere is still stuck on "promising".
@dynastian I'm guessing you don't watch wilshere often. I hope england shows up at the world cup so people can see what he can do. He would start for us if not for the repeted injuries. And ramsey being a beast

I do watch him often and he's not as good as Veratti or Koke at the moment. Doesn't mean he's not a good player. Just those two are better.
Wilshere is by far the best player Arsenal's got... And one of the best young midfielders in the EPL. Verrati still needs to grow up on experience.
quote Dyn: "Verratti anyday. Wilshere is just hyped because he is English."
this^ is what i wanted to come out. for starters, they're 2 different players, as Wilshere is more offensive than Verratti, the latter is Pirlo without free-kick mastery. tho' Verratti is better than Pirlo at interdiction and at holding the ball. that said, now you want to explain me why on Transfermarkt Wilshere's value is 33mil €, while Verratti's 20mil €. this brings us again to the start point: "Wilshere is just hyped because he is English."
Wilshere has talent, no doubt about it, still i don't see him to have the same consistency as Verratti (take away the injury).
i also know, as a matter of fact, that after i made this post karma will punish me and Italy will be boned by the young english talent at the WC2014. it always happens like that...
@KingHenry
Well, that's kind of the point, isn't it? He's being outshone at his own club by Ozil and Ramsey, who are both fairly young in their own accord (neither have hit their prime yet). And yeah, I haven't watched much of Wilshere recently. I watched him more when I actually had an EPL channel, which was when he was still in his teens. But I think I've watched enough of him to compare him with Verratti and Koke.

@Tuanis
what makes Wilshere more experienced than Verratti?
Wilshere has been a regular starting XI player since very young at one of the best clubs in one of the most competitive leagues... Verrati spent a lot of time playing but for a Serie B team.
a serie B team which won the league under the guidance of Zeman. not sure Wilshere can have the same tactical experience as Verratti, or at least i don't feel to say he has more. still doesn't justify 13mil € difference in market value imo.
@Shpalman
To be honest, market value doesn't represent the true value of a player. Wilshere valued at 33 M is bullsh*t because Isco himself is valued at 35 M, and we know the real difference in skill and talent between Isco and Wilshere is pretty obvious. Due to inflation, the real prices of these players are hidden, but this is what I feel it should be.
Isco > Verratti > Wilshere
If Isco is 35, then Verratti should be around the 28-32 mark, and Wilshere around the 25 mark. Or however you feel to set the price precedence.

Verrati for me.
4:04, you do that in your own box at 21 years of age, fresh in a new foreign league coming from serie B.
you've got to have balls of steel.
@Dynastian: yep Isco and Verratti are almost on the same level, but here as well we could consider them the same level because both offer something that the other player doesn't. meaning Isco offensively, while Verratti defensively. Isco plays more in a virtuoso manner, Verratti still does that but he's already more pragmatic than the spanish guy. Verratti could play with both Isco or Wilshere tho', while the latter 2 would trouble eachother together on the pitch; so the correct comparison would be between Isco and Wilshere.
Isco is clearly 1 level above. Isco is even better than Messi if you ask me, for the way i see football at least.
Paul Pogba (once we sign him. pls sign him. pls.)
Based on form, Verrati.
Based on talent, they're equal. People forget the season Wilshere had before last year. He had been injury plagued and maybe will come back like Ramsey did.
not same position. both good on their positions.
Wilshere is not even in the same Galaxy as Verratti! Natural successor to Pirlo.
"Isco is even better than Messi if you ask me, for the way i see football at least."
I'm gonna need some help seeing that one with you... ;)
But care to explain?

His point, why does he need to justify it ?
Because I'm asking his opinion, since I am intrigued by this statement.
Are you seriously going to derail THIS thread too?
