Is Ryan Giggs Manchester United's greatest ever player?

Just a quick article I'd like to share with you guys. NOT MY WRITING. I COPIED AND PASTED.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1601650-where-does-ryan-giggs-rank-among-united-greats

Ryan Giggs is
certainly one of the greatest players in the proud history of Manchester
United
, but is he the best? Well, that really depends on how you
define "best."

Most people would probably give the nod to George Best, who is widely
recognized as one of the 10 best players in the history of the game, or Sir
Bobby Charlton, the English legend who holds the record for most goals at Manchester United.

One
could make a case, however, for more modern-era players like Cristiano
Ronaldo
and Eric Cantona, who were beyond
fantastic in their brief time at OldTrafford.

That's the thing about Giggs, who was voted as the best player in
Premier League history as part of last year's EPL 20 Seasons Awards—he's been
great for so long at United, it's hard to pick anyone ahead of him, despite
that in any given season of his career with the Red Devils, he may not have
been the best player on the field.

From Peter Schmeichel to Cantona to David
Beckham
to Roy Keane to Edwin van derSar
to Ronaldo to Ruud van Nistelrooy to Wayne Rooney to Nemanja Vidic to Robin
van Persie, Giggs has always been there and always been great, if never the
greatest. That said, his longevity, sustained excellence and ability to adapt
his style as the game evolved make him one of the true greats—and maybe the
greatest—in Manchester United history.

you know i think he is now i think about it. his length of time at the club and his transfer from speedy winger to relaible central midfielder as he has got over. also surely no other player has won more cups than this man. i would add his character and dedication also.

It's still have to be Bobby Charlton, for me.

Then again, I'm not a Man United fan, so... ;)

@Lodatz

I'd find George Best to be United's most skillful player, but Sir Bobby Charlton completely deserves to be United's greatest ever. He survived the Munich Air Disaster all the way back in '58, and it's a miracle how he survived and continued the legacy of the Busby Babes. It's just so unfortunate that his team mates didn't survive, otherwise we'd have looked back on them as one of World Football's greatest EVER sides, along with the Madrid squad of the 1950's, the Munich squad of the 1970's, the Brazil squad of 1970, and the Barcelona squad of 2008-09.

my opinion:
1-Charlton
2-Cantona
3-Best
4-Giggs
5-Scholes/Ronaldo (tbh, alot of players could be number 5)

@MRarsenal

You can't just go and compare Rooney with players like Cantona, Ronaldo, Best, or Charlton just yet. You need to give Rooney more time with United, and if he breaks Charlton's record for most goals for United, then he'll definitely be one of United's greatest ever. But I still think the others are a step ahead of Rooney.
