Is Chelsea FC as good as Barca, Bayern and/or Real Madrid?

As the title reveals.. Chelsea is better than ever before.. but are we/they as good as, what is usually considered to be the top 3 teams of uefa;Barca, Bayern and/or Real Madrid?

I say YES, without a doubt!, but then again, I might be biased.. or?

Chelsea has played 19 competative games this season, and still haven't lost a single game. However there has been 4 draws of which 2 has been in the PL (against Man United and Man City) and 2 in CL (against Schalke and Maribor).

Chelsea are better than Barca. On equal footing with both Bayern and Madrid.

If Chelsea gonna play against Barcelona or Bayern,i think they will win.And against Real Madrid, idk kinda hard! I think Chelsea/Real Madrid/Bayern Munich will win UCL this season! Barcelona can make it to the semifinal!

I'm yet to see Chelsea not park the bus against Bayern and Barca in the Champions League, so it's difficult to say.

Dynastian98 said it as it is. Chelsea are much better than Barca and on the same level as Bayern and RM.

Why are Chelsea much better than Barca? And they are not on the same level as Bayern or RM.

In current form YES. But you did nothing in recent years. Other mentioned teams won a lot.

On paper and recent form of EPL, yes.

But, on CL level, it would be naive to say they are better than Barca... or even BVB now... It's hard to compare, but Barca could easily thrash Schalke, and especially Real.

When Chelsea plays with tactic, sometimes negative tactic, they will get the result. now with Mou, the master mind, it's even more possible.

Again, my point is, it's way too early to say anything about Chelsea being up there, they are always among the top, but top 5... I doubt it.

Yes they are going on the right direction for a while now, the coach plays a big role and they have one of the best.
In term of squad they have maybe the fourth one but overall, they have many arguments to show....
Atletico, Dortmund and PSG are dangerous too.

So much better than Barcelona, no doubt about it. Bayern and the new Real Madrid tho? I think Chelsea can also challenge Bayern too, but will have to climb to face RM.

its ok if people think chelsea are not on the same level as the top teams in europe, i think its better that way, i want chelsea to be the underdog, it takes the pressure off chelsea. but of course with the players chelsea have, with mourinho as the coach, the expectation is high for chelsea. so lets just wait and see

On paper NO but in a match, the Mourinho advantage lets us beat all three

I dont think its at the same level. 4th best team maybe...Its like last season, everyone was bragging about chelsea's defense and claiming its the best until they actually faced a team with better defense then Chelsea's (Athletico Madrid). Everyone thought Chelsea will be in the finals and no way athletico can score a goal at stamford bridge but they scored three and chelsea couldnt score more then 1 against them. EPL teams are often overrated. No one cared about athletico conceding the least goals saying its cause they play in shit la liga and that chelsea has the best defense, but then they reached the finals and almost won it when people realized. Diego Costa can score as much as he likes right now but when he faces the actual top opposition, they will come back to earth.
Also the toll of important fixtures will be too much then, whether to win EPL or CL cause costa has fitness issues...cant play twice a week can he?

^ why would he need to, when Drogba and Willian are putting in shifts like this, against one of the top dogs in the (supposedly) awesome Bundesliga?

Costa is being rested, wisely, in games where Mou doesn't need him, or doesn't want to risk him.

See, the thing about, say, Dortmund and Atletico, is that everyone has magnificent seasons. Liverpool, for instance, last season, or the 2004 squads of both Porto and Monaco. Inter Milan won the CL sandwiched in between years where they got nowhere.

And the thing about clubs like Chelsea, Madrid, Barcelona, United, City and Bayern, is that they have the money and clout to keep buying the world's best players, in order to beat the clubs like Dortmund and Atletico over the long span of history, or over the much shorter recent history too.

Chelsea last season are not Chelsea this season, and absolutely NO-ONE thought that last year's Chelsea was as good as it was going to get. Those of us who watch the English league already knew what was going to happen; Chelsea under Mourinho again were going to be a MONSTER.

And so they are. I reaaaaaally hope they meet Atletico in the knock-outs, just so we can watch this argument settled. ;)

Yep, Mou is the key here. And Chelsea has very deep squad that's for sure. last year they didn't have enough good strikers

@Lodatz @AZC111 Lodatz has a great point there. There's a huge difference between last years Chelsea and todays Chelsea, because Mou has had time to settle down and adapt his tactics to the team and Chelsea has obviously made great transfers (money talks) since then. Costa must be one of the best transfers of the year (If he can avoid those injuries, that is). Anyways, I'm obviously talking about the recent form and how Chelsea would stand against the top european competition today, so @AZC111 it's not as last year, when supposedly everyone was braging about Chelseas defence. Chelsea was not a ready team last year and honestly, I think they were far from the european top then. The football look a lot different this year.. more attacking football even though Mou still plays his defensive tactics and tries to close the games a bit to early.

I guess that the discussion is whether Chelsea can keep up this form for a longer period of time in order to be able to say that they are as good as those teams, but I'm certain they will, since it's a young team, has got a perfect fit in the manager, and with the success attracting new top players.

Anyways, if we're lucky this discussion might be settled (sort of) if they meet in the final stages of CL.

@tike_taka All new transfers have been perfect matches.. Fabregas.. Costa.. Matic.. Courtois..

I feel we're very lucky to have them, and I wouldn't dare to say that Chelsea is top3? in uefa without them..
