He does, Don. There's nothing to argue about.
Anyway, Bale scored two goals with an outstanding performance today (so close a hat-trick!) and made Spurs beat Newcastle while climbing to 3rd. It looks like AVB is doing a very good job. Jim and Lodatz, I admire your team for playing probably the most entertaining football in the whole EPL. It's verily fantastic to watch!
^^^^ yeah Spurs playing the best in epl for sure imo. Bale was amazing today. only luck prevented him from having a hatrick and Spurs win by lots of more goal. Spurs can keep him for couple more years but when he go Barca or Real (or revitalise seria a and ac milan?) then Spurs need to make sure they get what they should get for him. that is no less than 80m euros
He had a beast of a game today. I hope the highlights show all the chances, as well as the goals. Only a pair of world-class saves by Krul denied him a hat-trick.
LOL. I think all four of us rushed straight from the game to post about his game today, at the same time.
one of his best game in a spurs shit....
oops spurs shirt my bad lol
@ Lodatz, to me Ronaldo is terrible at free kicks. In the past three seasons, he has had a total 179 FK attempts, with 15 of them being goals. 55 of them actually hit the target, 56 were off target, and he has hit the wall 68 times. To me, that is far from a free kick specialist.
@ Golden, Messi does not play as a striker, rather a free role all over the pitch. Just because on paper his position says striker, on the field his position says many other things.
Golden you are from Portual just like Ronaldo who will always deny Messi facts that's why there is nothing to argue about.
@tdot2: Good point.
@tdot,
Haha, I'm not from Portugal? I'm from Norway -- the other side of Europe -- and I support Portugal. To the point: I'm not denying anything, I'm bringing you a fact. Messi plays as a striker whether you like it or not. Taking your argument into consideration, I can simply state that you'll always deny Ronaldo facts because you support Barca and Messi.
But I'll give you this: Earlier in the post you said Ronaldo deserves better evaluation than 8/10 regarding his weak foot. I completely agree. He just scored a wonder goal with his left foot against Sevilla. :)
And there Ronaldo scored another one with his left. I think we should give him 10/10 on weak foot.
LOL. Still, Bale, gentlemen. The Sunshine at the Lane!
Well as your bio says, you root for Portuguese athletes such as Ronaldo. Everyone who watches Barcelona knows Messi always plays BEHIND his wingers and occasionaly drifts forward, giving them through balls as marvelous as Xavi's or Iniesta's, which is not what a traditional CF does. Argentina national team knows this which is why they play Messi BEHIND Aguero and Higuain. He is not a traditional striker I'm sorry to break it to you. It's what it says on paper but not on the pitch. If you use your stupid argument "plays as a striker whether or not" then don't even bother replying.
& by the way I never deny Ronaldo facts.
Either way, Messi's role automatically turns into a greater extent of a goal scorer as he plays in the middle. I won't argue about how he's playing behind wingers and so forth, because I'm not a Barca analyst, but we all know that a striker plays in the middle -- right in front of the opponent's goal, served by the wingers.
Off topic again, Ronaldo scored a third goal with his weak foot against Sevilla as he completed his hat-trick for tonight, just before he was replaced to get some rest till the Champions league clash against Manchester United. Undoubtedly, 10/10 on weak foot, eh?
That's where you are wrong. Messi serves his wingers more than they serve him, and he does not play right in front of the opponents goal, he drifts in and out occasionally
& yeah I saw his left is amazing.
@Golden Arguing with tdot is pointless. He's obsessed with Barca and Messi and doesn't know how to accept that there may be players or teams out there that can beat Barcelona. Just don't bother arguing with him. It takes an idiot to argue with and idiot. :P
Dynastian so what did I say that was wrong?
tdot is right Messi does not play striker... and he is also right about Ronaldo's freekick, but his weak foot is strong, and also Ronaldo scores a lot of goals because he doesn't cross the ball to his strikers as much, instead takes the shot, he plays more like a striker
and as for Bale, he is amazing. Just hope he does not move to a club like Real Madrid
I love Gareth Bale. Gareth Bale is wonderful. He's a fantastic player, and he's becoming, with every game, more of a leader and more of a game-changer, to the point where he is one of the best players in the league.
However.
Gareth Bale is not Ronaldo. No, he's not as good as Ronaldo, and the truth, he probably never will be, because Ronaldo is special. Ronaldo is on a level with Messi. Bale is not. Even as a Spurs fan, who loves Bale to death, I'm getting sick of all the stupid articles floating around out there, saying that he is going to be as good as Ronaldo, and thay he's one of the best 5 players in the world, and blah-blah-blah.
When Capello said that Bale was the best player in his position in the world, I thought it was a bit over-the-top, but still mostly true. I can think of no other left-winger in the world I would rather have. But that, while a little silly, was at least talking about his position. All the current hype about him being one of the top 5 in the world is just, to be honest, obnoxious.
Can anyone persuade me that I'm being unfair, and that I should be agreeing with every band-wagon writer who is half-assedly filling the internet with dodgy comparisons to Ronaldo?
'Cause from where I'm standing, it's over the top, it's dumb, it's annoying, and at the end of the day, it doesn't even really help him.
