For Manchester United : Antoine Griezmann = CL qualification.

Antoine Griezmann departure price is known, more than Pogba means over 110 million euros and there is only one possible destination ( or two less likely ) I will try to explain why :

Main reasons :

  • Griezmann cant go to Barca/Real, The direct move to Madrid would be seen as a club betrayal and his spell at the City of Madrid will be a nightmare. At Barca he won't get the freedom he has because Messi is playing that role.
  • He Is not in Bayern Munchen transfer papers and the depth Bayern have is huge so his signing is not a priority atm.
  • A return to France ? Only at Paris but financial fair play put Paris in a situation where it's hard to put 110m in the table for a player.
  • United is the richest club in 2017, has one of the largest fans arround the world and would treble his salary and explode his marketing earnings.
  • If he does 30% at United what he is doing at Atletico, He would have more recognition from world of Football and Specially from fans because experts rate him very high.
  • His homie Pogba Is very happy atm, He has a huge contract for his age, and the Pogmania if it is not seen yet on the pitch is invading social networks, making Paul and United both financially benefit from it. So Griezmann who is from the same generation and very present in social networks would want to extend his followers and marketing impact.
  • Sportively we cant say that United is an upgrade to Antoine, because at Atletico and under Simeone, Antoine is motivated and put in the best conditions to achieve on the field, but in Spain his trophies hopes are very little comparing to United competing with teams under construction.
  • Making United " great again " will be a true challenge for president Griezmann and will lead him to glory and wealth, also its easier to contend for BO having a large visibility and worldwide fans comparing to what he has atm.
  • He will be directly a starter and would take the keys of the squad in a short period, with all my respect to some United players, none would be a danger for his starting place.

BUT it's not done yet for other reasons :

  • Griezmann feels at home at Atletico, and love his actual mentor EL Cholo.
  • He Is not the player would love to change clubs and pretty loyal.
  • Sportive over financial, thats Antoine he earns enough in his eyes and he is focused in the sportive. His agent and family will push him for a move but until now he always said Atleti is my home.
  • No CL = No Antoine, as simple as that he is no Pogba. And he clearly want to be the best in the near future so his pretenders are warned.
  • Atletico cant refuse a 120m offer, but Antoine can refuse a move and fans will then put pressure for the direction to stay.
  • Chelsea is the other club that can attract him, they do not have Pogba as an argument for Grizou, but Conte's management is similar to EL Cholo, it worked with Costa and it will probably work with Griezmann.

The salary given by United is known, they will give him the number 7 and Mourinho is making place for him but then the sportive should follow.

Some facts, some speculations, some personal opinions, what do you think ?

Griezeman is such a beast of a player, from what I've read here it also seems like he is a very Loyal Player, so it will be hard for him to move, but like you said if he does move it wont be to barca or Real IMO. it would be a betrayal, As you said i believe United and Chelsea are the most likely destination for him, with united having a better chance. Yes Pogba is there now which will attract him but also David Beckham is one of Griezemans biggest inspirations, and apparently his older brother is a huge REd DEvils fan. HAHAH TIKi "make united great again" that is a great one :P

I'm pretty sure his contract release clause was at 100 million euros, or something close to that.

I silently hope that United finishes 5th in the league, missing out on Champions League football, and we'll get him. Absolutely love that guy.

He would fit perfectly at Chelsea but then again where will you play him.. I mean our players are giving their all makes it hard to even think of a replacement. As for a backup, he is definitely not a backup kind of player.

Hazard - Costa - Griezmann

Willian and Pedro to the bench.

@JuanMata Would you really replace someone who fights for the club to win each game with someone who hasn't yet play a match for the club? I wouldn't. I'm satisfied with how much effort Pedro and Willian are showing.

@Alex

Wouldn't you automatically replace them, though? Griezmann would surely carry a hefty price tag... there would be pressure on the manager if he didn't start him. Moreover, Griezmann recently won the Bronze Ball. He's officially the third-best player of 2016, and he is miles better than Pedro and Willian. Surely he must have an instant impact on the team. Signings like Torres for Chelsea are once in a blue moon... chances are that Griezmann would excel immediately when thrust into the starting lineup.

On a side note, I really badly want to see how Hazard performs as a false-nine. I think that would be absolutely thrilling to watch.

@Alex: Basically what @Dynastian said. Additionally.. Griezmann isn't exactly the least-hardworking player either ;)

@Dynastian: Rewatch Chelsea - Bournemouth and the latest Chelsea - Leicester game then (both 3-0 if I remember correctly). He was deployed as a false nine in Costa's absence. Played well, but I prefer him as a left winger.

Still think Arsenal should sign him, but won't.

Very true. We can only get him if we qualify for the CL next season. All the reasons you mentioned are valid, along with the fact that he has mentioned in an interview that he would love to play along with Pogba at club level some day.

It would be pretty exciting to see the french trio of Martial, Pogba and Griezmann along with Ibra and Mkhi.

@decentK why Arsenal still be scared to pay this prices . They can get a good skills footballer. They have the money to afford it. I think İt is explaining why Arsenal have not had a big cup for along time. And people still expect success like me . I hope they will surprise me at this season

I know but many said that about Pogba. I mean is it really worth it to pay 110 million on a player to replace a 2 hard working players that are doing great for what they are asked from? That's why I said that. Griezmann is without a doubt a great talent.

If someone is underperforming on your team that would be an easier decision.

We don't need to splash any cash anymore and we have amazing players already with great youth coming up like charly musonda zouma etc.

Antoine Griezmann = CL qualification.

I mean, if United want him just for top 4, this is sad.

He'll do well in EPL in my opinion, but he doesn't need to leave Atletico, especially for United. I doubt he'll also move to Chelsea, they don't necessarily need him.

My personal thougth are that if Griezmann is to move somewhere, it will be to United, unless something big happen, like for exemple, no CL or stuff like that. His other option at that point would be Chelsea. Can't wait to reach the summer to see what he chose to do. United might also try to wrap up the deal before the start of the transfer window wich might influence this whole thing.

Tbh, his style of play suits Chelsea far more than it does United. It's not like I'd say no to him though, Ibra can't keep this up forever.

We don't need Griezmann to qualify for UCL. Mou needs to play Carrick at CDM with Herrera and Pogba alongside him. Start Ibra, Rooney/Mhiki, and Martial. Darmian needs to be dropped. That'll get us UCL. To be fair, if Mou fails to qualify for UCL with this team after spending more than 100 Mil, he should be considered as a failure this season...unless he also lifts the Europa league...in which case, I don't care where United finish this season!

But Griezmann needs a CL qualification to come to United. Or stay at Atletico And represent them in the next one.
